Good job. I've never had a patch fall off a side wall. But I do agree it didn't need one in that situation. But I did get trained by a bandag retread facility. I watched what they do. So my repairs are top notch. There are Bias and radial patches... I'm sure you know. There is blue special glue and rubber cement. I use tire talc on repair patches to help with friction.

Hey brother I'm an old tire buster from way back and I'd never tell a man his business so it's just a suggestion. How bout investing in a Tommy Gate for your truck. It'll save a little on your body and you won't have to put up with a lazy skiddy operator

1 trip, strip and patch and that tyre would not have separated and you would not have gone back for a 2nd trip.. excellent example of why not to plug, but hey, you will carry on

Nothin to do with the plug, the nail in the shoulder separated the casing and tread and when I took the nail out the air was able to pass through and make the bulge, but by your tone you must have known that

@@TheTireDoctor if you where aware of that then it makes this practice even worse. There could have been and internal separation storing pressure which could have released when you pushed the needle in. Plugs should be performed on a deflated tyre, plugs are designed to be a temporary measure, generally to get a tyre to hold enough air to move the machine to safe place to perform a permanent internal repair. It is a very controversial topic but people only take note once its to late. I

@TheTireDoctor 🤣 I have no idea at all.. I dont have 28 years of experience in the industry, work for a tyre manufacturer, or involved in OTR Tire design / engineering of any tyres, nor do I spend any time out in the field reviewing products.. you are absolutely correct
