In this video I take a mean reversion trading strategy idea from Larry Connors and swap the exit to create a strategy with an 87% win rate using no indicators. DOWNLOAD the rules for this strategy for FREE here: www.thetransparenttrader.com/...
I changed the exit to a quick 1st profitable close exit I originally picked up from Larry Williams.

At 15:32 of the video, I look the out of sample (201901-202107) is very good except 202002-202003. So do you add ATR(14) filter in the out of sample time? According the strategy, it is not trading in 202002-202003 because of bigger ATR.

This is amazing, I've started to make my own EAs. They are profitable but have fairly big drawdown I wonder if the atr filter for volitle markets would help

That ATR filter is a brilliant idea. It is true, that some of my robots also don't like the beginning of 2020.

Great vid Jarrod, but how does one except a 300 pip stop loss? How is that feasible, even with a tiny lot size that could amount to a lot of drawdowns? I get that you want room for the trade to move, but that is a deal breaker.

Percent volatility is another useful unit of measure. volatility=( ATR(14) / Close[1]) * 100; The upper bound was 120 pips, perhaps there also exists a lower bound. Could see if a max period of 10 days in a trade exit helps, since losing trades stay in the market longest. Thanks Jarrod

Pretty similar. We have a high enough average trade that even when adding costs, there is still a chunk to be made. I often add costs to show you guys the difference in results, I just didn't get round to it in this one!

If you're doing algo's then it's easy to see indicators not as indicators but as data filters.

One thing I've never understood is why you don't consider the success of your previous trade to set the risk? If your last trade failed then use a minimum risk amount until you get a winner. This would work best in high probability strategies that were still subject to losing streaks.. Such as this one. Maybe risk 50 quid on a trade until you get a winner the proceed as normal.

Thank you so much!!!From everything I follow on KZfaq your videos are the most inspirational. Your approach fits the best to my personality. Now a bit off topic: Do you know why OANDA reduced their historical data to 35000 candles? Is this affecting your multicharts account ( is it reflected in the data feed you get from OANDA to multicharts)? Thanks a lot!
@TheTransparentTrader
@TheTransparentTrader 3 жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed yet. But maybe because I already have the data downloaded. Multicharts saves previously downloaded data.

Are you kidding? You’re probably one of the persons that always find something to argue about. You don’t even know how many people appreciate the transparent trader and the efforts he puts into the transparency of his videos. Instead of talking BS and giving out false information like 98% of other trading channels, he actually shows backtests, strategies etc. etc. U shouldn’t complain, it’s what makes this channel unique from the other channels and has nothing to do with lack of passion at all. It’s just a transparent, straight to the point video. If u have a problem with this, leave and don’t dislike the video!
