Glee incorporated a character who had a wheelchair into it's dance routines. If they can do it, the Disney channel probably can, too. And subtitles shouldn't be too much of a problem. I know lots of people with kids who play videos with captions on all the time anyway because kids are loud. Lol. But even so, it seems like there would be simple ways to work around a character or an actor being deaf or mute if the writers were creative enough.
