Questions for you. I recently purchased the same railing in black . I have a small deck i am going to restore with trex composit deck boards and trex horizontal hand rail . My deck is 10' X 10' . How far apart ahould i center my center 4x4 from the 2 end post to get the correct spacing for the spindles on the hand rail and what type of saw blade should i use to cut my post sleeves and aluminum rails . I was going to use a black saw blade that cuts metal and steel. Thank you for your time

Hello, thanks for reaching out. For how far apart the post should be, it depends on the type of railing you use. To cut the railing, you can use a carbide tipped blade with 60 teeth or more. If you have any other questions, please give us a call at 1.800.289.8739. - Thank you, Trex Customer Care

What is the difference (if any) in the Trex Select Railing kit and the Trex Enhance Railing kit that is sold at Lowe's?

Enhance and Select railing will have the same esthetics. The biggest differences are the following. -Select railing only have the color option of white rails with Black round aluminum balusters, where Enhance has the options to get the rails in Vintage Lantern, Saddle, Black, or White. -Enhance railing does not have an 8' span option, the only length in the Enhance line is the 6' span. - Enhance railing is measured clear span, meaning the 6' railing sections if going to have an actual measurement of 72". Select is measured pot to post on center, thus meaning the 6' span has an actual measurement of 67.5" or the 8' span has an actual measurement of 91.5" Please feel free to reach out to us directly at 1-800-289-8739 and we can answer any further questions you may have. What should If the bracket angle doesn’t with the rail posts, are there custom brackets?

I have a real problem. I already cut off my stair rail posts the same length as the deck rail posts for the horizontal rail (40 inches). I just the saw the part of the video where you used the mark on the post sleeve (6:51) for the top stair rail to determine where to cut off the post. Now, two of my stair posts are too short for the railing. My posts are in 30 inches of concrete and also part of the slab concrete. I cannot replace these posts without taking all the stringers off and digging up all the concrete. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Yes, splice together a piece of 4x4 on top using a dowel to hold it in place. It’ll be covered up & nobody will know, except us. 🙂
