Ey bro pull a chair out… so if Toney signs for United, doesn’t ever receive a ban again and plays brilliantly… then his history didn’t have much of an impact with what he did on the pitch and it’s a good signing. Ala his comparison to Yorke who produced as a footballer. But if he signs and it does have an impact on his availability and ability on the pitch then clearly it wouldn’t be a good signing. Do people even realize Ten Hag only has one year remaining on his contract? A lot of people appear to have lost sight of this in their rush to see him fired. It makes zero financial sense to concurrently pay two coaching staffs with Ten Hag only having one year remaining on his contract. INEOS, the new higher ups, and Ten Hag should work together to get more of the deadwood out of the club, bring in the players all sides can agree to, and next season should be his real judgement period. If it doesn’t work out next season, move on. In all seriousness, the media (including the United Stand) talking about Ten Hag In or Out for literally 7 months straight on a daily basis has gotten so old and repetitive.

Anyway I now think we should just keep him for the remaining year of his contract because next season will be crap anyway so he might as well take the blame for it instead of INEOS. If he manages to make it a successful season then we can give him a new contract. I think INEOS will keep him for that reason.

Fun fact: in 1989-1990 season sir Alex Ferguson struggled with injuries and finished 11th in the EPL and the only thing that could have saved was the FA CUP(won it) and there were doubts about who the owners were going to be as well. The rest is history.

I remember the 99 season, I was 24 living in Dublin, too. Saw the FA semi v Arsenal in the Bankers Club off Stephens Green. I watched the Barca final in my flat in Ranelagh and went on to watch a Joy Division tribute band in a club in Temple Bar. I met a guy with a united shirt and said to him it was the best night of my life, he topped me by saying it was his birthday. Great times 😂🎉

He just wants to right so if ETH eventually stays, he will say “sit down Ten Hag outers” The FA cup may be a deciding factor because it gets Utd into the Europa league and if not, Ten Hag may be out. If Ten Hag has a year left on his contract, it’s a question of trust. Do INEOS truly believe he’s the guy to take Utd forward. Even if he stays for another year, INEOS may just let him run out his contract if they don’t trust him and don’t want to pay him out.

Surely it makes sense to keep ETH even if they want to sack him and then if other clubs come in for him they will have to pay compensation granted won’t be a lot but it’ll be better than paying him for sacking him. I’m ETH in but if Ineos don’t see this they are dumb

If I have to compare Amad last season where he actually played and Garna this season. Amad is ahead for me. His positioning on corners, cuts in not only to shoot but actually sees a pass, give and go on point and retains possession 90% of the time. All our forwards, along with the rest of the team still need to work on defensive transition but with the right players, that can only be scope to improve
