Absolutely. I declined to go to the London show because I was starting to hate arenas. When the BluRay and album came out, big regrets! 🤦‍♂️ I did go to the next tour at the Docklands Arena, but I don’t think it was as good as this tour.

In my heart, I consider this performance one of the most beautiful songs ever sung. I have seen this vid over 50 times, and it always brings tears and smiles. It is the synergy of the voices, instruments, dance and lyrics that provokes a joy and sadness simultaneously. With the virtuoso Dr. L. Shankar on violin and the fabulous Tony Levin on bass, the musicians bring the vocals a surreal atmosphere. I will see this performance many more times. I almost think it should be highly suggested to any living human. Love to all.

After this tour ended, Paula Cole released her first solo album, “Harbinger,” and then started a tour opening for Sarah McLachlan. Notable because the industry execs insisted that you couldn’t have two female artists on a tour; the pushback McLachlan got over this was her inspiration to start the first Lilith Fair. It’s a shame that “Harbinger” gets so little attention; it’s a fantastic album. The track “I Am So Ordinary” will break your heart.

Peter Gabriel is a musical genius, let's just take that as read. I think what makes this clip stand out, above and beyond the glorious music, is the way it comes across as a group of enormously talented people having a huge amount of joyful fun, in a very collaborative way. It's not actually all that easy to pick Peter out as being in any way 'in charge', or the 'boss', even though it's his show and his name attached. It's just an expression of pure joy.

Yes, Peter always worked with top notch musicians. Tony is part of the live lineup since, forever. To quote wikipedia: "Tony Levin has performed on every Gabriel studio album and every live tour except for Scratch My Back (2010), the soundtracks Passion (1989) and Long Walk Home (2002), and the New Blood Tour." So he's essentially a fix part of the "band" behind Peter's solo career.
@chadbennett7873

@@Bunny99s I saw the Roxy show in Hollywood on Peter's first tour and, of course, Tony was there, along with Robert Fripp (as Dusty Rhodes), Larry Fast and other fabulous musicians. It opened with a slow version of "Here Comes The Flood" where Fripp introduces himself with a screaming guitar lick unlike I ever heard before or after. It bled into "On The Air", which had not yet been released on the second album. I was fortunate, because it was broadcast on radio and I was able to get a bootleg album of it. I still listen to that opening medley in my rotation. What an incredible show of musical history!

Love Peter Gabriel dearly but his range is not incredible. Incredible vocal range would be Dimash or if that doesn't count then that guy who sang "She's Gone" (Steelheart). Gabriel's range is good but not incredible. Incredible would be at the 4 octave range. Gabriel would be less than 3. Falsetto doesn't count. Mixed voice does. Freddie Mercury comes to mind as a baritenor. PG is a baritone.

You're by far my favourite "reaction channel", there's zero pretend or exaggeration. And I love how you let the music just take you on a ride even if it means saying nothing for a few minutes. Your facial expressions fill in the blanks so naturally. And as someone who easily gets moved by music, it's nice to see a "hardened professional" isn't safe from it either lol. As a layman your insights on technique and how the singer's choices fit into a song are also really interesting

I saw this live. To this day, it is still the most amazing concert I have ever been to. I am so glad they filmed it so I can watch it over and over again over the years. It never gets old.

I’ve watched this video a thousand times and never, NEVER get tired of it! It’s, in my humble opinion, one of the best songs, most moving songs ever!!! So freaking good! ❤

The secret world DVD is a gem. This song, Dig in the dirt, Come talk to me , San Jacinto and many more are all amazing performances. A little credit goes to Robert Lepage for his stage production and visuals, Robert is famous for his many contributions to Le Cirque du Soleil.

I saw Peter Gabriel in September 2023 in Vancouver and this song was a highlight amongst a concert full of highlights. His voice was spot on and the musicianship of the ensemble was incredible..... and this is coming from someone that has seen Iron Maiden 9 times and usually goes to metal concerts.

Thank you for featuring Peter Gabriel! I've been a huge fan of his voice and song writing since the 1970s. He still sounds amazing on his latest album (well worth checking out, in addition to his entire catalog). I saw him live last fall and his knack for visual presentation on stage is still as inventive as ever. I highly recommend the Growing Up Live concert, Back to Front, and his Old Blood Noise tour with full orchestra.

I've been going to Peter Gabriel shows since his Genesis days. I have seen hundreds of concerts in my life but Peter Gabriel concerts are the most amazing and well produced experiences to be part of. He is a true musical artist and student of the craft showcasing world influences and unique sounds and compositions. He always delivers.

It’s refreshing to see someone that feels music the way you do. Peter’s vocal contributions to music will go down in history as one of the most unique vocalists of all time. Glad to see you enjoy this as much as I do. Love the channel. Please keep expanding the mind (and ears) of all generations on KZfaq. 😊
