Used to go to Dingman & Bushkill falls as an annual daytrip from SE New York about 30 years ago. So glad to see it so well maintained, especially in today's environment. Swore I would move to that area then, but due to life circumstances never happened. STILL have the same dream, thank you for putting it to the forefront again instead of a back burner.

Great place to play when it’s hot. We hang in the water and under the lower falls of Child’s Park. When I was there, maybe 10 yrs ago, road was not closed.

I'm glad you made it to Dingman's and Silverthread falls! Yes, you are correct; the trail does continue to Childs rec area with a series of boardwalks & 3 beautiful waterfalls.....and as of late 2020 the trails are still closed. You must see the Zimmerman area about a mile or two north of the light at Dingmans Ferry. Look for a gated old road on the left side of the road with a 'Z' on the gate. I really enjoy your videos and commentary.

Couple things. I think the 'Rhododendron' are actually native Mountain Laurel. It is PA's state flower and many consider it the most beautiful of native American Shrubs. They bloom late May to mid June. These flowering shrubs can be found throughout Pennsylvania's forestlands. It would pay you to go to forests with these plants in the spring time. Just breathtaking to see. You mentioned Child's Falls Recreation Park. If it is re-opened, it has several waterfalls. Really beautiful. I was to this park as a child several times; I loved it. That is many years ago. Thanks for doing Dingman Falls. I had never been to that park when I lived in PA (most of my life). Now I live in FL since 2017. I really enjoy seeing my home state through your videos. When you were in Coplay, PA; you were only a few miles from where I lived.

Loved the silver thread waterfall best. I was gonna ask if you could go to the top of it and show what is feeding it. Bet it's beautiful when al those bushes are blooming. I'd love to see some of these falls in the winter

To Carol: Silver Thread watetfall is fed by an outlet stream from Lake Kemadobi. My best friend and hiking buddy, Don, grew up on the area. His father owned most of the land around the lake and helped build rental cabins along the shoreline. Because of his knowledge of the area, I have been fortunate enough to traipse along many trails in the Water Gap area along Rt 209. It's a wonderful area with many lesser known gems. I'm in my early 70's now but still enjoy getting out there!

Bald Cypress trail at First Landing State Park, across the state from me - has a boardwalk trail through bald cypress trees and black-water. Pretty cool! Used to go there often as a young adult... tire my kids out. 😉😄

It's George W. Childs Recreation Site. Check it out if you can. There are some great waterfalls and ruins of industrial buildings. I hiked it in the winter many years ago, before they put up no parking signs outside the gate. I believe it was Factory Falls was frozen in such a way that it looked like a bunch of frozen jellyfish were hanging from the rocks. There are a few other waterfalls along rt 209 that are fairly quick hikes and the Mcdade Trail runs about 30 miles along the Delaware River, I've biked maybe half of it and it's fairly scenic. I hope you enjoyed your time in the area!

Can you please take a screen shot of that cat you caught on the trail cam? You can post it on Berks County Cat Search Facebook page. That cat looks too well fed to be a feral. Someone maybe looking for him/her and it’s getting too cold at night!
