I think Jiri needs to train with some world class kick boxers and get more technical with his striking defense. I think his training partners are too weak that he gets away using his chin for bad defense.

What a stupid take. This is mma. He was getting beat on the feet and used his grappling to beat MVP where he was better at. That's exactly what an mma fighter is supposed to do. You fans really are morons. It's like you think fighters are supposed to just be dumb as possible and just accept being punching bags until they get knocked out. I don't even like Garry but he did exactly what he SHOULD'VE did to win that fight.

We gotta take it with a grain of salt because it was against MVP, but he at least has enough grappling where it makes me think he can hang with some of the better grapplers in the division. Maybe. I would want to see him fight someone like Colby, Belal, Usman, or even Shavkat.

​@@GageStehurahe tried in the first round, but couldn't get it. For one to wrestle, he first must approach his opponent. He did manage to do this one time in the first round, but couldn't do more than hug Pereira in the fence. And the second round ended in 13s.

I just want to throw a shout out to Yancy Medeiros as well for the Hawaiians. He was never top 5 or anything but that dude was so skinny and lanky but would slug it out with the best of them. If you ever get a chance go watch him vs Cowboy Oliveira. That fight should definitely be in the hall of fame some day

I think mvp should have won 1-1 going into the 3rd and then Ian getting out struck for 3 minutes then laying on top of mvp for the last 2 should not take the fight

Why doesn't Dana realize that Jon Jones never knocked his opponents out like this at 205. Jon isn't capable of it at Heavyweight either. Alex Pereira has shown to have extreme knockout power in both 185 and 205. It's hard to deny that Alex's power wouldn't translate into heavyweight. Have any of you guys seen Alex hard spar with professional heavyweights/heavyweight boxers? That's his next step man

Seemed like Pereira wasn't hitting Jiri crazy hard when he was on the ground, just doing enough to get the stoppage. Still would have been powerful enough to kill me, not saying it was nothing. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, idk.

he didn’t cut weight three times, he changed weight three times, once he cut to 145, then he water gained to 155 because ortega, then he gained to 165 because ige

Was his ancestors belief system demonic? I mean, they did use ritual sacrifices in that part fo the world. I only say that, because it's not really a moronic view to have - depends on what that belief system is - even if it is ancestral - I think it takes a bit more then that to decide if its demonic or not, like maybe ask what exactly that belief is!

Statistically Ankalaev averages ONE takedown per fight, he has ONE submission win. He really isn't a particularly great grappler (statistically speaking), just because he's from Dagestan doesn't mean he's primarily a wrestler. I would like to see that matchup though, agree on that front.

@@jmz2144how did he expose him when ankalve only proved it takes more than brutal leg kicks to get him outta there, yes he exposed him in a way that Ankalev can wrestle and switch to plan B and not many fighters can do that. People don’t talk about how great of a comeback story that is for a fighter to finish on top and probably winning it. Let’s not forget Jan is just tough and not easy to finish, hell even Alex couldn’t finish Jan.

Am I the only one who thought DC sounded ignorant calling Dolidze small? The dudes got a really solid frame. He’s not the biggest LHW but he can definitely compete with the top 10. If he was prepared for It he’s probably 10 pounds heavier on fight night. I think he’ll be a challenger at whatever division he decides to set his feet.

How terrible did Ian Garry look? I gave MVP that decision not even hating, he won 2 and 3. Garry literally became a wrestler and did nothing on the ground. If you label yourself a striker and your opponent turns you into a wrestler and out strikes you, you lost that fight buddy! ..Either way we all saw how trash Ian really is, he's on the same level as these C tier guys he's been fighting, never be champ.

Herb Dean did the RIGHT THING. None of us wanted to see an early stoppage, and the fighters did not want a dubious stoppage even less. That fight was not supposed to leave any doubts about who won, and a questionable stoppage was out of the question. Herb did the right thing to make sure all doubts were gone.

In like 6 months to a year Is bamtamweight division is going to have the most insane fight we've ever seen. Like talbot vs oliveira or either against sandhagan or sandhagan vs omalley or the other 2 vs omalley. Plus if you put usman in their if he atops pulling out, then you add Yan, Song, and figgy... WTF my heads about to explode thinking about it. Its definitely passing 155 as the most exciting division, and thats very hard fore to say

I really, really enjoyed this card. I saw things differently than most people, I think. MVP vs Garry was a great back and forth fight which felt really close (to me). I feel like the card was outstanding overall, especially considering all the changes and problems. Saw some promising "new" fighters too. Personally, I loved the show.

Lost all credibility when you said you didn’t expect Garry to fight MVP the way he did. How else do you fight a prolific striker? And here’s how Jiri bit the hook on that kick. Why would Izzy take an L? People seem to forget that Izzy is the only person in the promotion who has a win over him. Every win Alex gets makes Izzy look better. When you're the only guy in the UFC to beat this monster of a man that's running through former champions like they're nothing; and you're the only one who was able to go toe to toe with him and manage a win; you're not taking L's when that beast beats someone else.

Eh, the sport isn't just entertainment, winning affects rankings and the amount of money you can negotiate for in your next fight. Hugging to eek out a win doesn't frustrate me so much as the judges favoring Ian hugging MVP in the third round without putting him in actual danger, when MVP landed actual threatening damaging strikes on Ian... just felt like MVP should have won based on the rules, but lost on the last visual of the fight.
