Okay Alyssa is my new favorite lol! As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Christian I love that she’s having these conversations that people shy away from. Katie’s young and newly married so I get she’d be more apprehensive. She may be more candid after years go by, or she can continue to be conservative, whatever floats her boat.

I love how open Alyssa is. I also really appreciate the openess. There is still alot of miss representation when it comes to pregnancy and when women don't have that they can/do feel like they are doing something wrong. With that the reality that pregnancy isn't easy isn't talked about

DO IT ALYSSA!!! I’m so glad that even though you are from a conservative background that you hit the questions head on! It’s real life and definitely part of your family’s life with so many children ! People act like then TMI things don’t exist, but in actuality it’s probably the most important because it affects you the most! Poor Katie looks like she could crawl in a hole when you answered the sex ones! Katie needs to be educated though!

Thank you Alyssa for being so open about subjects that people think are taboo to talk about. Let’s face it, we all know you have sex, you wouldn’t be doing this Q&A if you haven’t. I have a newfound appreciation for you for your honesty. Poor Katie, I could feel her embarrassment when the sex questions were asked of her. Give her a few years, she will feel more comfortable. I will say, her shyness was a breath of fresh air.

Y’all are so cute. Glad the two of you get to go through your pregnancies together. Such a blessing to have someone else experience the same thing as you at the same time. Zofran, oh boy do I understand that one. My best friend and I both had Ovarian cancer at the same time and Zofran was on of our medications. We would laugh so hard talking about constipation. We’d been friends for 50 years so talking about personal things were natural for us. Congratulations to you both!

This is my fave video you’ve done! Love that you were so open and honest, and that you didn’t skate over questions with a “safe” answer. I’ve thought about this before watching Q&A’s or interviews… it’s always nice to hear real and raw answers than for them to be glossed over and a neutral answer given. Like, nobody wants hurt feelings or to open past wounds, but it’s nice to hear honesty such as which sibling did you not get along with growing up, what do you disagree with your family about, and more intimate answers like these that we all go through and should be able to talk about.

You two are adorable! You both look similar, you can definitely tell you're sisters. Katie, you are blessed to have so many pregnancy-experienced women to go to for advice. I admire the strength of anyone who has so much vomiting and has more than one pregnancy. As you were talking about tearing, I kept wondering how our ancestors tolerated that, especially if they delivered with a family member or old fashioned midwife. How would they sew them up? Be thankful you live at this time in history, in a country that has modern medicine and that your grannies in the past were all strong women, so that you could be here. Have you ever thought how hard it is to carry and deliver a baby in a third world country? Take good care of yourselves!

I remember when Alyssa was embarrassed to talk about or would skirt around a question and thinking that will change. The younger you are the more you feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. As you get older and experience everything that happens to women as we age, you get more comfortable. It was definitely easier for me as I approached 30, then the next age was 50. At 50 you let more go in regards to hang ups. It isn't as important as you thought it was before. You start to become Grandma and you realize what's more important. It's also fun to make your younger sister embarrassed and see uncomfortable in a fun sibling way. I did it with my sister, what kind of sibling would I be if I didn't? 🤣 now she does it with her daughters and tried to pull me in to verify her. Life is fun! Enjoyed watching you two.

When I was a teen, I was in a all-girl course, and that was probably one of my favourite course because there was a lot of talking. The girls and I would ask so many questions and the teacher was so sweet and really honest in answering those questions. That’s where I learned a woman in labour could either go number one or number two once she starts pushing. Years later when I was pregnant, that was in the back of my mind and was my biggest concern once it was time to deliver 😂

A great tip: if you plan to nurse or even the first few days, cut a sanitary napkin in half and stick them in your bra. This way you avoid leaking, as I found nursing pads did not hold it! Also cocoa butter is what my daughters used and it worked. I used nothing and have lots of stretch marks. One more tip: instead of a laxative, try a magnesium pill each day. It is natural and never harsh. To stay regular you need 700mg of magnesium daily. You get some in your diet. Magnesium regulates the amount of water in the bowels. Hence Phillip's Milk of MAGNESIA. But that is much more expensive than popping 1 or 2 magnesium pills daily. Wishing you both well with your pregnancies.

If the dose of magnesium is too much, just cut the dosage back until it right for you. Don’t stop taking it.

This was so cute, funny & informative for new mommy’s. As a momma of 3 - ages 29, 22, & 15, everything you said is absolutely true. The tearing! Only happened with baby 1 & it was the worst! I was really sick with all 3 so when people say a girl makes you sicker than a boy is a lie lol. I remember my doc telling me with baby #2 to have sex in the last couple of weeks as much as I could. The O helps the uterus start contracting lol.

I loooved our wipes warmer. And for bottle feeders, a Day-n-Night warmer is the BEST THING EVER; two chilled bottles ready to go. Baby wakes for feeding, pop a cold bottle into the warmer and by the time diaper is changed, warm bottle ready to go, right there at bedside. ❤❤❤

I smile laughed about the diaper wipe warmer. I live in Minnesota and I have had my diaper wipes freeze solid in our car. Then I have had to chisel a block of frozen wipes to get one free to use on my poor baby’s bottom. Yes, in Florida wipe warmers are silly. In Minnesota it is a different scenario entirely. 😂

Stretch marks use 100% pure cocoa butter. Not mixed in a cream but the real deal. Secondly, follow the pharmacists/physicians 3 step rule when it comes adding flexibility/moisture to skin. Lotion is the least effective, creme is more effective than lotion and ointment will always be the most effective. That's the reason why pure cocoa butter is the most effective. A combo of it's naturally occurring ingredients and it's thick, salve like texture. It keeps to skin hydrated for a much longer span of time.

Oh Alyssa and Katie, this was fantastic I don’t really post on your channel but felt compelled to thank you for being so open honest and candid. We all love KZfaq for the entertainment it gives us but your platform in this case has truly been used for educating young and older pregnant first time moms to be. Especially women who are introvert and would not want to reach out to ask the most personal intimate pregnancy kinds of questions. Especially if they were brought up very strict religiously and just told not to ask or given a book and told to get on with it. I shared this video with my young niece who is currently pregnant she is very shy and she loved it in fact it’s encouraged her to do more research to answer all her questions and reach out to other mothers. Cheers ladies. PS the copper coil might be something you may consider as you don’t want no more kids, my best friend has had five pregnancies and for her enough is enough LOL her husband only has to look at her and she gets pregnant so as she didn’t want any hormonal birth control she opted for the copper coil needless to say three years on no more babies LOL good luck in your search

Thanks for sharing your wisdom Alyssa! Tips for Katie: The wedge pillow might be your best friend in your 3rd trimester, allows you to recline at a 45 degree angle without being completely flat on your back, also your body adjusts every day and every week so the moments where you think how can I make another x weeks, trust me your body does adjust and then you look back at how far you have come along. Also I recommend the book Natural Child Birth the Bradley Way by Dr. Susan McCutcheon and the Mighty Mama Movement birthing classes- great tips on breathing and exercises during labor, labor prep, how to prevent tears and so much more- there are techniques so you don't have to be afraid when you do go into labor.

I had my first in 1981 & by the 5th month couldn’t sleep, so we bought a water bed!! Filled it pretty full and from then on slept great. I bet a sleep # bed would work the same.

The diaper warmer for night is nice. It doesn't jar them awake as much. I got one only for 3rd child and it made a difference.

I had HG with 3 of my 4 pregnancies, all boys (2 live births and 1 miscarriage, at the time of delivery I was 6kg/13lb below conception weight with one son, at conception weight with the other and I was 10kg/22lb below conception weight at the time of my miscarriage). But my daughter who is my youngest I didn't have HG; she was also my only pregnancy where my weight went above conception weight (although it was only by 2kg/4lb). It is possible (but rare) for HG patients to have a HG free pregnancy, but as i said it is VERY rare.
