Have you ever tried the Jonnnie Walker Gold (18 year?) and been able to compare it to the new one? I'd like to hear what you thought.

I refuse to watch other whisky channels because I like this one and respect your opinion the most. Keep up the good work

I got a bottle of Gold about 10 years ago and I LOVED it. At that point I had tried all their flavours except for the swing, and next to Blue, it was my favorite. It was so smooth and mildly flavoursome. Its a shame that they have changed the taste because it was a good drop. If you get a chance, and you can find an old bottle, I would LOVE to see a review on it.... cheers.

I grabbed this sample pack the first time I saw it. I think these are great things that more distilleries should do to give consumers a chance to try multiple offerings without commiting to a full bottle of each or managing bar excuisions. I really didn't have much issue in getting to the goodness within each, though I was a little worried about breaking the tiny cork in the blue. This was actually my favoured of the set. I liked the more liveliness compared to the Blue, Platinum just hit a combination that turned me off, and I found it much more interesting than the Black. None were what I would consider "bad", though, and think it would be more according to personal preference. I have since tried Double Black (great) and look forward to trying Green some day. Thank you for your take on this.

The JW Green beats the Gold hands down any day... You reviewed this whisky exactly as I experienced it.

They've already rebranded the Platinum as JW 18 Year old, with a white and GOLD label. Just to make things even more complicated

If I had to choose one scotch to represent the scotch whiskey kingdom it would be Green Label. I was about to restock my cabinet and was tempted to try the Gold instead because it was only a few dollars difference. But after reading the profile my gut said no. Your review just affirmed that decision.

It's not composed of only 15 single malts as you say, because then it would have a "blended malt scotch whisky" designation. It has a hefty amount of grain whiskeys and that's why it's called "blended scotch whisky"

The old Gold Label was excellent. Sweet, rich and decadent. I haven't tried the new Gold 18yo.

Jack Daniel's no7 My girlfriend will buy me 1 liter of whiskey. I have red label, and you know how bad it is. I want something nice and I have absolutely no idea what do drink. She will buy it from free shop, red label 1 liter was 15€ so please while you are selecting the one consider the price is not so high too (I'm student)

I had the SAME thing with the Gold... managed to get the Platinum open with no flesh-wounds, at least.

I very much enjoy your reviews. However I have to respectfully disagree. My wife and I really enjoy this whiskey and I think it is worth every penny. You are spot-on about the honey. This Scotch is extremely smooth and sweet with a whiff of smoke. This is by far our favorite Johnnie Walker. It beat out the gold 18 and the blue label. I have never tried the green so I cannot compare but as far as the other Whiskey's in the range goes this is our favorite.

Ignore the Gold, to me in regards to value chivas18>green>platinum>double black>blue>black lol. I have them all even the explorers club.

This whisky is rank the original gold label 18 year old centenary blend in the other hand was superb .

Tried this one and did not like it either. In fact, the only Jonnie Walker I've ever liked was the green but there is a few I did not try.

If you have a problem opening these small bottles, you can use a screwdriver. Better then a knife.

I got the box. funny enough the foil peel on my cap also broke and had to use a knife to get it open. it was only for the gold though

I consider Gold to be terrible. Astringent, thin, and not good even as a gift. After initially tasting it, I let it sit, hoping that time would improve it. It didn't. It began and ended terrible.

After watching your video i found it for $37 dollars , I hesitated to buy it but for that price I couldnt pass it , it actually surprise me its not amazing but for that money you cant go wrong

I bought a bottle on sale about a year ago and I still have more than half of it. To me, it's as bland and boring as it is overpriced.
