Fun fact: Fuji Speedway in Japan was meant to be a massive oval super speedway but due to the cost it was eventually scrapped. I believe you can see part of, what would have been, the banking for turn 1 on Google maps

There is also a Mod for Assetto Corsa which is the original layout that still raced the already finished Turn 1.

Fun fact:Rafaela and Jacarepagua was the only circuits to have a oval(for People that dont know:the Jacarepagua circuit haved an oval course that was only used in indycar(CART))

2:28: wrong Year. Monza's track was built in 1922 (including the first version of the oval). The current version is dated 1954. Also, the Monza's oval is clockwise, at opposite of the american ones (althought is was used in reverse to hold a 500 mile in the 50s)

I don´t know how I got that wrong, we´ve been hearing "it´s Monza´s centenary" all year long 😅. And yes, I´m using the anti-clockwise layout as IndyCars only raced in that layout (Race Of The Two Worlds)

While it's not outright stated, we can assume that this video is looking at race tracks only. High speed proving grounds are in another league.

In Germany we have the mercedes test course that is near Papenburg and it’s 12,5km long. I don’t know if you can call it an oval circuit but yea

I don't know if its still used for oval races but Autodromo Internacional de Luanda in Angola has/had an oval configuration, it's pretty big. Very, very flat.

I think brooklands was a longer oval than monza? I mean if youre only counting the ones still complete then yea ig, brookplands isnt "one piece" anymore

In my opinion Brooklands was a road course as it had a right-hand corner. As long as it has both left and right corners I consider it a road course: AVUS, Bahrain Outer, Goodwood, Thruxton are some examples of "almost ovals"

An oval race track is essentially an high speed track with banking, were normally all the corners are on the same side (although Brooklands, the first track designed for car racing, had a right turn between the two banked left turns). It does not have necessarily the shape of a geometric oval (actually, none of them have, excep maybe Nardò, that is a test track), is more a convention to distinguish them to road tracks.

Nardo Ring is owned by VW, but it's in 🇮🇹 Italy. It's also not a race track.

Both clockwise and anti-clockwise configurations were been used. I´m using the anti-clockwise as the most important race here was run that way. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ibhzf66etqjQppc.html

Vero, ma negli anni 50 l'ovale è stato usato per delle 500 miglia in senso antiorario. Non è del tutto corretto girarci in senso antiorario, ma neppure antistorico. That's true, but in 50s the oval was used in anticlockwise configuration for some 500 mile. So, is not completely corret to drive in anti-clockwise but neither hystorically wrong

Europe is wrong... You for an oval Nardo Ring... It can be seen from space. Asia is wrong.. Jari is double the size of motegi in Japan, but then you actually have to go to Natrax in India for the largest oval in Asia. Australia - Lang Lang shits on Calder Park.

Nope different tracks but very similar, the only two "superspeedways" in the world. Talladega is in Alabama and Daytona is in Florida. Talladega is 0.16 miles longer
