I had the pleasure of sitting in on one of the Veritas tasting sessions, almost identical to this one, at a trade show earlier this year. I was blown away by how big of a difference the glass shape made on both aroma and flavor, but what really shocked me was how much the glass shape effected the mouthfeel of the wines sampled.

This is it. It is a pleasure to drink wine from the right Riedel glas. With Riedel Wine glasses its possible to drinkt each wine in its full splendor. Love it!

I can agree with the aromas and thus the shape of the glass being important. There is also the feeling of drinking from a nice glass. Properties that are important to wine for sure. But what I struggle with is the claim that when the wine is in your mouth it changes so much, because the instance Riedel takes a sip, he also swirls the wine in his mouth as he says "to cover the whole palette". So all in all it makes sense that a glass is important for the _experience_ but the claim regarding taste is a bit strange. I'd speculate it's more about smell, i.e. tasting and smelling the wine from different glasses that makes the biggest difference.

Looks like I need about 4 more types of glasses… wonder who could provide them???? Hmmm

Riedel is very good. And smart, no wonder it took over the shares of the excellent (but cheaper) Nachtmann series. Last but not least: never stir a great red wine like is done here in this performance.

He's a master salesman, no doubt about it. He's almost a prophet, with that kind of passion. There's one problem; many studies in major research laboratories in the U.S. and Europe suggest that Riedel's claims, scientifically, nonsense.
