"And We Run" featuring Xzibit, the 4th single outtake from Within Temptation's album HYDRA, undeniably is the most unconventional track of the Symphonic Rock band's successful 6th album.
"Xzibit is amazing!" says Robert Westerholt from Within Temptation. "This song is about how you've got to live your life now. He's rapping at full force on this song, it's really heavy. We've actually planned to have him on a WITHIN TEMPTATION album for a long time, but we never had the right song for him until now. He was perfect because we wanted a real rapper with a deep voice, because that would complement Sharon's vocals. He's a very positive guy with a huge history: he came from a tough background and decided to make something of his life. He really delivered!"
Singer Sharon den Adel adds: "Xzibit brings a new element to WITHIN TEMPTATION that we've never had before! It's a new cross-over and we love it!

I feel like the message of this song will be important for yet some years to come. I have withnessed alot of people hating on this,most for Xzibit,some for both,and some for Within Temptation. But like some true supporters said "Lets embrace Xzibit for taking on something else then he usually does,and delievers in style!". Within Temptation also helped him with loads of extra publicity. It was a win win. People just love to hate just for the sake of hating...... All the more reason to listen to this song lol.

Xzibit did the up in smoke tour with dr dre, snoop and eminem. Dont think he needed much help getting publicised. If anything this combination may have actually benefited wt more just vased on the whole mainstream popularity radio play bs. Either way its a killer collab. More people nesd to follow the likes of public enemy, ice cube, ice t etc and do some cool metal collabs. Im a metal fan but i still like and appreciate most things. But not the mumble rap crap bahaha.

Within Temptation were looking for a rapper who understands music. That narrowed it down considerably, and they found one. That is why it sounds so good :)

WT do a lot of collaborations, but this one is definitely more out there than most of them. Sharon den Adel was my gateway to symphonic metal and will always have a special spot in my heart.

Fun fact: Xzibit didn't even know them when they asked him for a collab. He had to google them but agreed afterwards :) You might want to check out the new song "The Purge", they just released a music video too.

@@spyhunter66 i knew of xzibit before wt. I knew of him from papparazi and the foundation back in the day. Dj muggs from cypress hill produced the foundation. First wt song i ever heard was restless. Someone mislabelled it on kazaa back in the day. Gotta love all types and genres, theres so much good sh!t out there

Sad that once great band is worst nad worst. This song is from last album I can listen to (rather rarely). I am metal fan and for me their best album is Enter (their first one). Next 2-3 are still great but symphonic. Next song maybe "Candles" or f.. heavy "Deep Within" (without Sharon).
