As a recap, recall that the Trio version featured Linda Ronstadt on all three verses, with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris on harmonies. F&F features each lady solo on each verse, a very different arrangement. More specifically: Verse 1: Maggie solo, then Maggie with Sammie on high harmony Verse 2: Sammie solo, then Sammie with Maggie on high harmony Verse 3: Chase solo, then Chase with Sammie on high harmony Chorus: All three together. So, you get to experience seven combinations of the three voices in a single song.

Foxes and Fossils recently got everyone together and performed a two night concert in Hapeville Georgia for about 1200 each night. I heard it was awesome and sold out. People came from all over; Texas, California, Minnesota, etc, and one from England.

Yep, it's true. I was at the 1st concert night on December 29th, their first live performance in about 5 years, and it was mind blowing. They are every bit as good live as they are in studio. They are also great folks who stayed around to meet with the fans and take photos. This was supposed to be a one of but of course all of us fans are hoping that it will be at least an annual thing or even every other year. And yes there were fans from pretty much every state in the United States and some folks from Canada and yes at least one gentleman from England. I understand that their fan base covers every state and about 40 different countries. I'm really not surprised as they are just that good and after all...good music is good music.

Actually, the building had a seating capacity of 500 but yes, it was a sell out both nights. I was lucky to be there on day 2.

Thanks, Travis and Susie, for this reaction. Since you wondered what the Foxes & Fossils were up to today, I'm glad you had a chance to review one of their recent studio recordings. This one is heavier on the Foxes, as your previous reviews were heavier on the Fossils. This is a great example of the way F&F can blend their voices and harmonize. The new addition to the group from your earlier reactions is Chase Truran. A voice and a name I'm sure you'll hear more from in the future.

I would suggest a review of “Love is the Answer” by Foxes And Fossils. Way better than the original. Chase’s lead vocals and the 5 part harmony is amazing. Chase’s run at 4:08 is world class.

My favorite cover band and they're from Georgia like me. Love their music and I eagerly await their next video...they never disappoint no matter the genre and more and more of their videos are crossing the million plus views on KZfaq. They literally have fans all over the world and I can't believe they are not better known than they are but talent is talent and they are overloaded with it so we keep hoping. Good music is good music and that's what they do and we fans are hoping that they keep doing it for many years to come.

Discovered F&F last year and have been blown away! Watched EVERY video multiple ( can we say obsessed) times. Every vocalist is first rate, harmony is always spot on, the musicianship is amazing. Still hoping for a live venue at some point. I’ll drive the eight hours anytime. They are a hidden national treasure. Still amazing that Sammie and Maggie are just 15 on the earlier videos. Then Chase comes along when Maggie leaves for college and SHE’s just 15! Smyrna Ga has something might good in the water❤️

Fox and fossils is one of my favorite cover bands of all time. As you say the harmonies and the beauty of their technique can't be matched. Also, the types of songs they cover are attractive to someone in my age group, but really are timeless. Another singer that you should check out is Angelina Jordan. She is 15 years old currently but has videos starting at 6 years old. She won Norway's got talent at the age of 8! And she appeared on America's got talent the champions at age 13. She is definitely worth a look.

Actually the ladies recorded the song in the same location. Maggie was recorded in the sound room while Sammi and Chase were recorded just outside the sound room. That's the reason the headphones and microphones match.

Most of the various tracks are recorded separately and often over an extended period of time .7/24/21 Darwin posted pics of the girls together in the studio for the first time since Christmas 2019.

Having matching equipment really helps with the final project. Same wiring, electronics, etcetera. Especially mics with vocals.

In this video the bass player is the only one playing from out of state. All 3 girls are in their home studio. When Maggie comes home to visit her parents the group gathers for studio work. Bass player is in Virginia all others were together.

No, they don't normally gather for studio work,they did have all 3 ladies there together recently for the first time - last 2 songs- since the Q&A video. With Sammie and Chase both back living in Atlanta it will be easier.The tracks are recorded separately and then they record the video singing along to the finished product. If they are not in the same shot, it may or may not have been at the same time.(Note the guys wearing different shirts in different shots at times.) Tim just works with everyone's schedules. He records a scratch vocal and maybe a keyboard or guitar track, then John adds the drums ,then various other tracks are recorded and Scott usually adds the bass last.

@@lynwessel2471 Like I said, Bass player is the only one on this video that recorded this remotely. I didn't say they were all there at the same time. All but Scott used the same studio. Yes, tracks are recorded separately, yes lead singer is recorded in separate sessions but often when girls are singing backup/harmonizing they are there together. Yes, Tim has to work with everyone's schedule. Obviously! I've been following F & F for years and love how they put songs thru production. Ma'am I think you misinterpreted my comment...

@@rickschwieter7185Yes, Scott records at Scott Kales studio in Virginia Beach VA.Toby did this one from his home studio. The girls had not all 3 been together in the studio from late 2019 until July 2021. (Dont Worry and Sandman were recorded in Sept 2019 the first time the group reunited) . Each recorded separately here.

Maggie is the first one, Sammie is the second one to sing and Chase is the last one who is just unbelievable, although they are all awesome, and the old guys well they are pretty good too. Lol

Been loving this band for several years now. Best cover band in the US but out of Atlanta. BTW, the first singer Maggie Adams is probably off at college. That's why she is in a different location.

Maggie graduated in 2016, 28 years old now. She is the marketing manager for The Basement East music venue in Nashville.

There was a review by a woman who totally diss this version. She made personal comments about the foxes which I thought was so wrong. Can’t remember who it was and I can’t find it. This is the best song they do and that’s saying a lot considering how I love everything they do.

Just to let you know: The TRIO version (Linda, Dolly and Emmy'Lou) was itself a cover--I forget who did it originally. This was recorded at one place. Tim's home studio. They come back to Georgia to record--most of the time anyway. The young women then go back to wherever and Tim takes his time mixing it all down............

Maggie lives in Nashville, Scott lives in Virginia Beach VA. Sammie and Chase are back living in Atlanta now ,as are the rest of the 'fossils'.

They like to choose songs with harmony so difficult that few people try to cover them, and then just nail it. The latest is Crosby Stills Nash and Young 'Carry On" . Just SMH.
