The control valve is difficult to snap into the fork without a spreader. It is easier to work on if both side plates are open so you can use both hands. To spread the fork, I chopped off a piece of wood about 1/4" thick 1 1/2" wide and 3 5/8" long. All dimensions carefully selected by grabbing the first likely looking piece of wood in the scrap pile, lopping a chunk off the end and trying it. It worked well to pop the fork off the valve and spread the fork to get it snapped back in place later. I measured it after the fact in case I ever need another one.

Hi Peter. It looked like to me that you could have used a mechanics chair. A little easier on the knees. I believe it was raining in the last video. Was this the same storm? I enjoyed watching this video as you bring that old tractor back to a better working condition. When you put insulation in the roof, you may not hear it rain. Have good days!
