the more matte satin look is actually more what the movie suits are usually. especially the mark 7. metal isn't typically super super shiny and like you said it could be cheap. colours obviously change like the mark 3 was a super dark red and felt kind of glossy with a more shiny gold. but the satin look is accurate and i'm glad they didn't just make it a generic metallic I think my issues with paint is the lack of the brush texture, little imperfections like silver chipping on the edges perhaps a little more weathering it looks a little plain to me especially as a hot toy collector the hot toy mark 7 has all these minute details

One thing I’ve never liked about these life size statues of iron man is how large chunks are clearly cast in one piece instead of separately and then assembled, as a fan of the “tech armor” concept this has always taken away from the overall feel of these, when I see that I feel like I’m not looking at iron man I’m just looking at a good standee 🤷🏻‍♂️

🤣🤣Fantastic opening for a killer statue that makes me think, it belongs in a museum haha. I do think life size collectibles are truly the ultimate level of acquiring the most realistic piece. Queen Studios work reminds me of high-end movie prop collectibles. It's not often that most people can see something like that outside of the film, so having reviews like this are so cool to watch. As for the name plate, that is the only miss for me on this one. I'm not sure if goo gone would work to remove it, but I've had success using it to take off stickers from older video games I collect.

Very cool to finally see this video drop for the mass's after the accidently release of the previous video to everyone and not just members. Please schedule more videos and who see's them when drinking more often. I'm looking forward to the mass sell off to make more room for the other life size pieces from Queen Studio's. Really amazing collectable having something like this is really awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the other life size pieces even though the wait will be long. I think I like it more w/ out the base.

Awesome video love the beginning, I think maybe that extra piece goes over the name plate on base if you want. Think I would display on base in my living room (9' ceilings)My wife might not like it in living room but the price I would not tell for 3months or so. Lol👍

I actually like the base. To me, the fact that it's a cheap sticker doesn't REALLY become apparent unless you're right up on it. Overall though, it's a cool piece but honestly reminds me of something you'd see in a theater as a movie promotional piece. That might be because of how the paint job is coming off in the video. It's hard to say how "metallic" you want to go with a colored piece like this. In miniature painting, the overly reflective, shiny paint style for metallics is sometimes referred to as being "candy" or "candied". Some people love that look for colorful metals and others hate it. On this piece, I'd almost want to see more of that style than the semi-gloss look it seems to have here.

It looks great with or without the base. I guess I’d choose to display it with the base because you can think of it like the suit’s in Tony’s basement where he has all his tech. It’s charging getting ready to blast off because there’s an emergency.

Very cool piece and I agree with most of your conclusions on this. Although the legs as separate pieces would have helped with shipping, I think you would sacrifice stability. With that option, I doubt you would be able to display this without the base... and could have problems even with the base.

Definetly with the base so if you don’t want to light up the suit cause it’s a pain at least the base is easy enough to light up and still give it some light and more presence.

Defining piece in your collection. I wonder if you would fit in it 🤔. Shame the camera doesn’t pick up the colours as they are irl. So the ceiling is not high enough to display IM on the base? Or I am I miss understanding? I hope nothing happens to it then.

Amazing. The Mark VII is my favorite Iron Man armor in the MCU. If I had the funds I would probably buy this and that’s a scary thought lol. I do think these life size statues are overpriced though. When compared with the busts being made these days I don’t understand how adding legs more than doubles the price...

It looks good with or without the base. The question is your ceiling high enough to display it on the base. I find when try to find the best spot to displaying tall items the ceiling plays a big issue.

TBH my favourite suit is the mark 3 in the first movie. Also I would want more details. I don't like the way the small rockets on the shoulder. They look more like a 3D rendering of just the tops of each Rockets. It's would have looked a lot better if when you look down the rockets are individual and space between each one.

And yeah the boxes when you get to half scale and life-size seem to be more of a headache to find space for than the statues as they are all manufactured massive wooden boxes. I mean this one is literally a giant wooden coffin

Love the MK3, MK7 and the MK85. The MK42(IM3) also has grown on me a bit although it's not as iconic. No way I'd ever drop that much money on a life-size suit though. I'd be worried about it falling without the base. I think I'd go for the third option; custom plexiglass cylinder for a hall of armour look.

It's fair for the price. It's very good. I just prefer more details even in smaller scale. One more problem I noticed that I would probably hate the huge box. I may get a life size when I know when and where I am going to retire and throw all the boxes away.

Few questions 1) do you think some articulation would have been cool like in the joints and some of the missile areas? 2)are you nervous that it’s not on the base as a display stand, like how sturdy is that actual piece. 3) what will you do with the base of its not displayed on it. I wasn’t paying the best of attention if you said any of this plus I’m in the middle of the vid

yeah I hear you on the value. maybe 4k sounds better for me. paint job is probably 1k... yeah pretty much impossible to sell, I almost feal the same way with large busts.

That extra piece goes under the helmet. It’s the cap for the battery compartment.

Looks like a satin paint finish and not flat - though it could be the lighting as that has a way of making things with a flat finish more shiny. In any case, it is really nice. That sticker for the base though - really? $12k and that's what they put on it? You could probably get a laser-etched metal sticker made that would look better. I do think you should keep it on the base though as it makes it look more "museum like".

It is amazing. My only complaint is that, to me, it looks like plastic, not metal. I understand not going "shiny", but it still looks like plastic. However, I'm not standing there, so it may be the camera or my graphics card, as you said.

One of hell of a massive piece. Too bad the base does light up to help display the unit. They really dropped the ball entirely there. Why not have a battery in the torso that charges through the foot when in the base. Idk man.

The base looks like it’s better than the statue. I would have saved 2k and bought the life size full suit that is out right now it cost 10k. It looks just as the statue and stands but you can wear it. There’s a video review of it on KZfaq. And it’s a 9/10 review. The base looked way cooler with your daughter on it than the suit! It made her look like a robot on a charging platform. That was really cool! Nice review
