Nova is a German Shepherd who was surrendered by her owners. Nova was in critical condition when she was brought to the vets. She was basically a skeleton with raw wounds. John decided to foster her and nurse her back to health. He spent all of time dedicated to making sure Nova would get her life back. And after some time, she started to find her strength and began living her best doggo life to the fullest.

As someone who was brutally abused as a child, I find this video very painful to watch. I was never rescued and never got medical care, and, though I was mostly able-bodied as a young woman, the untreated injuries eventually led me to become painfully, permanently disabled. When I saw this sweet dog crying with every step, I could relate because that's often my level of pain too. All I'm saying here is that cruelty's effects are long-lasting, and we should work hard to rescue and care for anyone who is abused, whether they be a human or an animal. We all matter.

@@CuddleBuddiesChannel Thanks. I decided to say something because I think that a lot of the people who work in animal rescue, or who watch rescue videos, are survivors of child abuse. We understand how it feels to be an abused or neglected innocent. I wanted others to see the parallel between abused animals and abused children. Indeed, in many homes where women and children are abused, animals are abused too. This was the case in my home. Both animals and children need care and rescue, and many never get it. This was my way of nudging people to try to help both.

Her injuries look a great deal like 2 cats I saw being treated by our vet for burns. Some punks were caught trying to burn a cat carrier with 2 young cats. The rescuer had been bringing these 2 babies in for treatment every week for months. He was so proud of their progress, but they still had a long road to recovery. It was heart-breaking & heart-warming at the exact same time.

@@antiquegirl6505 I just took in a stray dog on Saturday, a cute wire terrier mix, about 30 lbs., maybe two years old. He's healed from some horrible burn injury, his back and left front leg are laced with hard scars. Most of his left ear is gone. The injuries could have been road rash burns from being run over, but I think some creep threw hot oil on him. I can't imagine his suffering, but he sure is a happy fellow now. I named him Burnie. If I ever caught anyone abusing an animal, I'd simply shoot'em, take the animal, and have a good day with my new friend .

@@davidsnow2420 Totally agree about reaction to seeing anyone trying to injure an animal. Your little dog is lucky that you came along. We had a fox terrier while I was growing up.....they are fun, stubborn, smart and happy little dogs. Thank you for helping Burnie, he will enrich your life so much. We just helped an old, blind, half-starved Yorkie that was dumped in our neighborhood last spring. It was a long 4 months of medical re-hab of his multiple issues (eyes, rotten teeth, tick illness, starvation, etc). He responded well to care and started to show his great little personality. A rescue group helped me get him healthy and we found him a great new family with 2 other small older dogs. (My 2 big dogs liked him, but it was a constant fear that he would get run over or sat on, he was only 6 pounds AFTER we got him well!)

The great guy that rescued these sweet youg cats, said the 'punks' were caught & he was hoping there will be jail time....but it just is never enough, considered a misdemeanor, in the courts.

Original owners should be held for animal abuse. That German Shepherd looks so kind and gentle even after everything she has been put through. That says she was a great dog that had insanely bad owners who were abusing and neglecting her.

So happy that she wasn't put down and that she seems to be improving but... did I miss something? What is wrong with her skin? Was she fighting other dogs? Some kind of skin disease? Food allergies? I see she was improving, but there was no explanation of what had been wrong with her and how she was being treated to improve her condition.

O man, seeing a dog in this shape makes my blood boil! I am thinking of many terrible things I hope will happen to the monster, POS people that did this to her. But instead I'll just try to be grateful she was rescued. Still, who did this to her deserves a repeated kick in the balls for eternity.

Why don't you say what her problems were? Was she burned or was it an infection or an accident that caused her skin to be in such bad shape? It feels strange to me not telling this information. When you show such a horrible picture as a thumbnail, don't you think people want to know what that is? It's absolutely great to see animals get better and people taking care of those creatures in a loving way. But with crucial parts of the story missing, there is no feeling of closure.

What I can't understand is, these people that neglect and abuse animals, why have the dog/cat? Why would you get them in the first place if you aren't going to look after them? Is it because you don't want other to have them? I just don't understand how people can be so cruel, they're sick and shouldn't be allowed to get other pets for the rest of their lives.
