This also makes me think that Ron should say that the Leafs game 7 loss against the Bruins this year should be mentioned in Kristi Noem's book in the the same chapter where she said that she killed her dog for bad behaviour. Ron would say, "Game 7 losses for Toronto, it's like if you've been watching Old Yeller all over again."

Coach like i said last night Toronto played the bruins tight the entire series that is what u have to do against the bruins.. into OT last night the first time in the game they gave them open ice and Bang Pasta gets behind the D .. and its over Pasta one on one vs Samsonov is a no contest. Habs are building with hope ...Leafs have already built their team and its not working..tough to be a leaf fan for a real ong time..does not look better going forward....Great comments Coach

Yep it's time for full scale changes for the Leafs. Marner particularly with only a year left should be easy to deal. Tavares needs to go as well if they can find a taker and retain salary. They've tried tinkering on the periphery for years but it hasn't worked; the problem is the core isn't good enough and the team isn't well constructed.

As much as I dislike the Leafs, I did feel sorry for the players and fans…that said, I agree with you Coach…seems to be happening a lot lately…lol

The heart of the Problem with this team comes down to DUBAS.... Dubas had a belief in a certain style of play. This believe led to a number of very bad decisions. Over paying their core before they had success. Very poor draft strategies . Building from the Offense In instead of from the Goal crease out. No home grown goalie prospects. Lack of focus and money spent on defense. Hiring a head coach with no Proven NHL Experience who was softer then Babcock when Babcock did not work. Fortunately Montreal are not building like the Leafs--- 1) We have good multiple Goalie prospects-- One of these will emerge 2) we are loaded with Right Hand and Left hand defencemen 3) The collection of personalities do NOT appear Toxic. Hughes has managed his cap Montreal is built Defence First, Then Goalie ( if you have great defence your goalies will be better) And our money is not spent on 3-4 players We do not have a young wiz kid named Dubas

I also wanna add this is why some GMs like Kent Hughes dont go out and tank for superstars. You become a team like Toronto with bad culture and bad deph. Thats why Montreal is building something special in the playoffs and is why i think they will get a cup. They will have good overall hockey players like the Florida Panthers who are competing for a cup this year and were in finals last. The Habs are a team who will have no weekness and strengths. Defense will be 1. Goaltending should be 1 and having no weeknesses will be 1. Having 0 weeknesses and 3 strengths is something cup winners have. Toronto has 1 strength and 3 weeknesses. Not good enough at all for playoffs.

Nylander and Matthews got injured. They both arent actually that bad in the playoffs. Its just that most of their core is bad. I know you hate on Matthews but was playing with injury and couldve still easily had like 3 goals.

The Leafs need to get as many draft picks as they can get and get younger fast

Shanahan: on the hot seat. Keefe : will be fired. First Boston goal in game 4 is a strong reason not to keep Samsonov... among others. Leafs were more confident with Woll as goalie and played like it.

If im GM: Trade away Mitch Marner and Morgan Riley to Canucks in off season for Lekkermakki and Quinn Hughes. It definitely don't happen. But it's something I would do. Then make him or Matthews captain. Trade Tavares 50% retained to Boston for Linus Ullmark. And then try to sign someone like Pesce in off season. They need to get better defense and goaltending. The offense in the playoffs isn't their problem. If they get a real #1 that's good like Quinn Hughes then I think it could help the whole team produce and PP. That's what they need upfront. You get Ullmark to help goaltending and Pesce to help defense

No one taking Tavares on that contract. Marner will only waive his NMC to go to a contender, none of which can afford him.......
