But suppose she does and court agrees to it, baby must have a particular lifestyle as the "father" (me) would have provided. Meaning I make much more than the other guy, I still gotta pay my share. Second reason is, paternal rights and responsibilities are no longer 1 and the same they are completely separate things. You can rarely if ever get out of responsibilities part, but if they allow a dna test I will be instantly stripped of my paternal rights (not that I want to see her hellspawn but okay) because dna no match, judge named this explicitly as motivation. But they can be demanded by the actual father. And he has no duty, legally speaking, to assume payments. He can if he wants to (like hell) and the mother agrees (as if she would say no to double money), but again, if he makes a lot less then me, I still have to pay my share.
