Don’t let Valve off yet. The bot hosters have doxxed, harassed, spread hate speech, slandered, SWATted, and allegedly have been sending CP links in chat. Valve MUST take legal action. These “people” cannot be allowed to get away with what they’ve done

It's a momentary fix, given enough time the bots will be back. Valve may have cured the infection, but there's still an open wound left.

@@laf1993 not really valve, more like eric smith. keep in mind that valve's working policy is that they don't have a say on who decides to work on what in the company, so they won't just go and force someone to work on a game whose source code has been leaked several times, is infamously messy and whose engine is from 2004

a few clarifying point it is so piss easy for a bot hoster to just make more accounts, so unless this new program they rolled out accounts for those new bots we can't let up with the protest also according to Zesty Jesus, Richter Overtime, and a few others, a contact at valve has given them reason to believe that this "anti-Bot program" has been in development for two years, and is now being rolled out valve has been doing the treadmill work but only lost all the fat when it mattered

Maybe sure ok, they doing something in secret again and we can understand why. But they have failed to keep beta/alpha testers shut to not leak the info about Deadlock (going to be an L game, I'd bet)

@@MinorInconvenience666 It's not really Valve failing to prevent beta/alpha testers from leaking the game but simply them not enforcing any kind of NDA and exclusively going off of a trust/honor system which will naturally fail if a testers shows it to somebody who'll leak it to other people without said tester knowing.

@@MinorInconvenience666it's also possible that deadlock was leaked intentionally. Game devs do that in secret sometimes to test the waters. Plus, there is no arms race against hackers for a game that hasn't come out yet, so it makes more sense that this project received more security resources.

I remember people in TF2 talking about this a while ago, but really valve's best option is the legal route. Ban the bot hosts all you want, but they have literally no life and will do ANYTHING to evade bans. The only way to stop them for good is to sue them.

When I first heard of fixtf2 I signed up thinking “valve would never stop bots” until I played casual 2fort (the map notorious for bots) playing ~1h with not a single bot.
