I recently started maining lucio, he's fun. Unless they have a widow I'm generally with my team unless we're setting up for ults where I can boop them into it. On some maps I DO go backline lucio and go for kills but I never solo beat unless I need to live (and it guarantees a capped point)

You either quit being a Lucio main or live long enough to see yourself roasted in a vod review.

I would say the kiriko is even more boosted to be honest, at least lucio has the balls to push his limits. The kiriko is literally shaking her camera while healing and even failing at that, healing trough shields and healing fully hp allies. Maybe go in with lucio and get a pick and back out, honestly that didn't even look like a diamond support player, she barely threw kunais.

You can fit 2 kunai between the heals and not effect the "between" healing times by a large amount. You can see it if you hold down both buttons, but obviously that's not good for aim.

Ye I find that sneaking one kunai between the ofuda is ideal if you still want to at least aim your kunai towards the enemy. On console this can prove very difficult tho.

I find Ana is a much better pick in these sorts of situations where you almost need to heal bot on Kiri to keep your team alive

100% true, though to be fair to this player im assuming that decision was probably due to the lucio being rouge and not supporting much throughout the entire match, so they most likely felt they had to overcompensate with more healing output than damage IMO

I like being aggro, finishing kills for my team and helping my team make pushes, but I also try to bail them out of bad situations with speed, heals, or beat depending on the situation. Reddit Lucio is the most fun part of the kit, but balancing that by also helping the team is the best way to win games without tilting everyone lmao.

with the boulders he shoots now its more viable. they can grab picks but just need to prioritize team heals. its core to his kit

have you tried the workshop code VAXTA? it's a super helpful aim training code. bots of various heroes walk around and use movement abilities and you can pick any hero and just practice hitting shots. it's been super helpful for me. don't get me wrong, my aim is still bad but I have a better idea of how various movement abilities work so I end up hitting more shots. it's great for getting used to stuff like tracking a LW when they use dash, Bap when they use boots, Sojourn with slide, etc. and at the end of the day, Kiriko has the kit to do everything well, and it comes down to play style. absolutely you want to be doing both damage and healing but if you prefer to err on the side of healing, that's okay, just like it's okay to be the kind of Kiriko who focuses more on DPS. what matters is that you're always working on getting better at what you want to do! basically, don't listen to teammates who try to micromanage you. you need to focus on your gameplay and they need to focus on theirs.

same. bap, Ana, and Moira my damage is pretty good but idk what it is about the kunai I just can't hit those shots consistently lol

​@Lo0serx3 hitscan vs projectile. Bap and scoped ana are hitscan, Moira is a cone trigger for lock on(I think) Kiri kunai is projectile so if you usually play hitscan, it can be difficult to adjust

this is really a "it depends" thing. if a Lucio can get legitimate value from an aggressive dps play style and not just feed their brains out AND that's how they want to play, that's fine with me. if a Lucio is in the backline getting picks, that means there's less pressure on my tank and there's less pressure on me as the other support. but Lucio is also really good when the player has a more team based play style. that's definitely the kind of Lucio I prefer to play with, I won't lie, but if someone is making something work, then they're making it work. the key here is the Lucio needs to actually get value from being in the backline. they need to be getting picks, they need to be distracting and diving, they need to know what they're doing. that is not always the case when a Lucio player wants to do this kind of play style lol however you are right they need to be playing with the team, and when I say that, I don't mean grouped up with the team. I mean that the Lucio is going in at the same time as the rest of the team but they're going in from a different angle and usually on their own. the team should always be playing at the same tempo, but the team can definitely play split up at times

I think this is a moment to remember that people in higher ranks can have bad games too where they're just not in the right headspace to play or something. so many things can throw you off and make you have a bad game. the fact is, if you truly deserve a higher rank, if you actually do play better on a consistent basis than people in a higher rank than you, then you would get there. you have to earn the rank you feel you deserve and the rank you feel someone else doesn't deserve. did this person make mistakes? yeah. I don't think they main Kiriko or don't play her consistently enough to be consistently competent. it's possible they felt pressured to play the hero because Kiriko is strong or she's the hero the player felt the team needed - and sometimes we all do that, we will pick a hero that the team needs even if we're not great at them and then it messes with us for the whole game. but back to my original point - focus on getting to diamond first and then say someone else doesn't seem to belong there. like I said, people have bad games sometimes and they play significantly worse than they normally do. you have games like that, I have games like that, everyone does. also? we all fucking blame our teammates sometimes. you're absolutely lying when you say you don't lol you're not a saint. you have games when you get frustrated and complain to yourself about what your tank is doing or what your DPS or supports are doing. we all do. i DO believe you don't express these thoughts when you might have them, but that's not the same thing. we all have moments of weakness and frustration. the key to improving is knowing how to process and let go of the frustration and blaming others and turn your attention to yourself once you're done feeling what you need to feel.

@@sethescope I see your point and totally agree actually. As I understand it, I was overcome with a feeling of outrage, how can this person be a rank above me? But you've brought sense to me. The problem is I do not think I deserve diamond. I belong to plat in this patch at least and I like it here, people are playing very well too as I was saying so no objections with that. But yeah it would be so cool to get higher with time since I play competitive only for 3 seasons with breaks. I know I can't get there right now and understand that. The thing about focusing on myself is that I always think I could play better there rather than thinking about how my team is playing poorly. You can not play perfectly, everyone has his own mistakes, like you stated. And of course I absolutely may think my teammates are struggling whenever I am trying to figure out the reason we are losing at the end of the match but is it really blaming? I personally don't think so.

OP was far too used to Mercy's "Hold click and spin around until you hit something" beam, to the point that every time Winston put down a bubble it basically took Kiriko out of the game. You'd be doing yourself a favor by going into QP for a few games with every hero just to learn the basic gist of each character's kit

Lucio is a really different support compared to someone like ana, there isn't really an easier support that when you learn that one, can prepare you for everything lucio does. I personally think he has a lot of value, he's just so different to play from other supports, that many players struggle with him

Theres no “throw pick” in overwatch you’re just not playin with people with the skills to play those characters likely, because for most of this season lucio has been one of the top picked in the meta among most ranks

As a Lucio player I love having lucios. Speed boosting me as bastion is great or just diving in with them. When you play long range characters you're probably not very fond of Lucio.

@bleachkid44 thats exactly what a throw pick is. They are picking a character they don't have the skills to use. If I pick genji. I'm throwing cause I suck with that dude. I know lucio isn't bad, and I just get bad lucios. But my win rating with a lucio on my team is abysmally. That's all I'm saying

@@doakesanddrax But the character itself is not a throwpick. Also you are saying that you get bad lucios at lot but sometimes you have to adapt your playstyle to them and not the other way around. As a lucio player I lot of times I have to switch my playstyle and adapt to my team to win a lot of my games. very little do I get to play how I want to play lucio. Communicating with you lucio to speed boost you and dive the enemy team is a big part of having a lucio on your team

Hot take: remove the Kiriko and no one gets healed including the Lucio. I get what you mean, to be proactively doing other things, but the Lucio being almost zero help and their teammates constantly taking damage didn’t give the Kiriko much of a choice.

And I dont know if you only watched the first half, but the last half Lucio was constantly dead every fight and wasted ults. They did nothing except provide ult charge for the other team.

​@@button9Kiri could do more damage Kiri and Bap both have the advantage of shooting while the cooldown for healing isn't ready This Kiriko wasn't aware of that, and was fulling healbotting all of the game

@@button9 honestly healing kinda sucks anyways. The Lucio definitely was feeding in the second round but even then he made some fights into 4v3, which is worth it if you don’t die immediately

Did you watch the video? They swapped from Mercy to Kiriko after using Valk. Yeah they probably shouldn't have started on Mercy/Lucio especially when their tank was Rein but they only played Mercy for like 5% of this game. Also they had a Pharah. Mercy isn't meta but she can work with a good dps to pocket. Not with Lucio and Rein though.

What? The Lucio was literally feeding all game, and wasted almost every beat. Lucio gets value in one of two ways: winning 1v1's and speed boosting/beating the team into engagements. The Lucio literally did neither. The kiri was forced to healbot because the Lucio didn't do anything right. Sure there were some opportunities for Kiri to DPS but you have to huffing copium to believe the Lucio did anything. Not to mention the Kiri switch was obviously forced by the crappy Lucio play, making the mercy switch off her comfort pick.
