goats are wonderful for clearing out brush that you don't wabt. The milk is great too, If they have a Billy they will want to keep him a way away from the house, they DO STINK

Beautiful place. Glad you finally got to get out there. Starting with a blank slate (the land) is fun and a lot of hard work. Been there done that.

Make raised beds...but be sure to put some wire in the bottom before filling. Hardware cloth would work. I'm not sure if chicken wire would be strong enough. I have 9 raised beds and absolutely love them! Goats would help you clean all that bramble where you want the paths!

What you have in mind for your kids is so much better than the kids who sit on the couch playing games from morning till night. My kids had that out side all day long so much better for them
