@matttim5095 2 years ago squad what played with him is mostly out of the league, Will Barton, Campazo, Green brothers, Austin Rivers, De Marcus Cazins, Pj Dozier, Brayan Forbs, Markus Howard, Bones Hyland, Davon Reed. Monte Morris is the good bench player. Jeff is veteran more medicare player. Bones does not make a lot of minutes, and 7-8 players out of the NBA. From all players Gordon is rotation player and with this team he made 48 wins which is complete miracle. Denver Nuggets lost at least 3-4 years of Nikola Jokic with some players as Will Barton, They also made a lot of bad contracts in last 7-8 years, but this type of support cast nobody in NBA have never had in their prime years. If Le Bron had similar type of supporting cast he will speak he played against opponent and his own teammates.

Luka could not have done more than he did this season. Averaged a 37 pt triple double for months at a time. Carried an injury riddled team missing other starters and Kyrie for weeks to months at a time. Got to 50 wins with historic stats while being far and away the most doubled and blitzed player in the league. The media made up their minds about the award midseason based on RECORD, not what MVP means. Luka was tops in the league in basically every stat possible and was top 2 in many advanced ones including box score +/-, PER, wins above replacement, etc

Luka is first in pts, second in assists, 16th in rebounds and 9th in steals (His defense is bottom tier apparently). When he has an off game he still contributes massively (Literally last game against Heat contributing 29/9/9). He is clutch, hypes up his team and makes everyone around him better. LeBron moans too so that is not a valid downside. How can he not be MVP is mind blowing. He kept Dallas in the play-off race almost all by himself before the trade deadline and now he is got actually productive teammates around him. Lets not forget that Lively is injured rn. Its actually taking the piss

The KP and Brunson leaving being blamed at Luka is straight up making up narratives. JB's issue was with the front office not offering him what he thought he was worth and NY tampering (his dad literally was hired just before they pursued him). KP already came out in an interview that it was immaturity on his part in not accepting a number 2 or at least 1B role beside Luka. Dude, KP isn't going to be number 1 over Luka. Right now he's like Number 3 or 4 in the Celtics. That's why he's playing better, because he wasn't pouting at being lower in the pecking order anymore.

Jokić has been immune to the criticism? WTF?! Last year Perkins labelled Jokić a stat paddler that only won his MVPs because he's white, FS1 labelled him boring and unwatchable, Nick Wright labelled him the worst MVP of the modern era and wildly overrated by calculators etc... Even recently, Gilbert Arenas labelled Jokić the worst statistical MVP in 40 years. The media has been absolutely toxic towards Jokić.

Luka is a better scorer than James Harden. Especially with the new rules that diminished the effectiveness of foul-baiting. Luka scores at a better FG% and is prolific with fewer free throws. Also, Luka just has a deeper bag in general. Harden can't change pace the way Luka can, can't post up the way Luka can, has no mid-range fades like Luka has, doesn't have the footwork in the paint Luka has. James Harden was great at shooting 3's at a big volume and not necessarily at a high percentage but utilizes this to great effect which opens up the lane for him to drive and draw the foul or pass. That's his bread and butter. Luka can do that too and much more.

The argument for Jokic I keep getting when I say Luka is MVP is that Jokic has a higher efficiency % and higher +- numbers. And a higher seed. And he’s got Kyrie. I’m sorry but those “advanced” numbers don’t convince me. Luka is breaking NBA records. And the Mavs have been heavily injured most of the season. Luka will have to win a ring just like Jokic did to get the respect he deserves.

Jokic hasn't been immune to media hate, he's just gotten more praise than hate. Whereas Luka pretty much never gets praised at all by the media, just hated on.

In 20 years everyone will be saying how all those players (Jokic, embiid and Giannis) got MVPs over one of the greatest basketball player in the world. And all those people who are hating Luka now will be sorry... We have seen this already and yeah the history likes to repeat itself. In the end there are more dumb people in the world than there are smart ones, unfortunately by a large margin 😢

As a Mavs fan/season ticket holder since 1992... THANK YOU. This kind of hate is something we Mavs fans are used to. NO ONE believed Dirk would ever win a title. Even in 2011 we weren't even close to being even considered a contender until we beat the 2peat Kobe's... I mean Lakers... Lol. The hate Luka gets is very similar. I remember how I felt back then in 2011, it is exactly the same I do now. I truly believe LuKai can take us to the Finals this year and win it all.

Luka is having a better season than Embiid last season which got him the award and he choked in the post season as per usual. Joker is having a very similar season to the last one, but Luka is behind him in the rankings. Huh? I would be ok with Jokic getting the award this and last season, but not after they gave it to Embiid last year. Which would basically mean that, if Jokic gets the mvp over Luka, then Embiid got his MVP cuz he’s black 😐
