This isn’t an athletic sport so form doesn’t matter as much. Regular practice is obviously important and makes a difference but he’s been a pro for 2 thirds of his entire life, that’s tens of thousands of hours possibly even over a hundred thousand hours of practice, he’s near enough mastered the game

People forget that Stephen Hendry played to that Luca Brecel standard in the world championship. Stephen Hendry was the most attacking player of all time and hardly ever missed. I think people like Steve Davis and John Parrott have got a little bit carried away. But they did this with Shaun Murphy and Judd Trump. Ronnie O'Sullivan has also played to that standard if not above... But Stephen Hendry who's known for all about attacking and hardly missed I'm surprised people are saying Luca is playing snooker nobody's ever seen.. If you have he had Stephen Hendry vs Mark Selby in the final both at their best I could see the final going the same way. I would definitely favour Hendry...

You cannot imagine that happening now with Barry Hearn in charge, they would be fined for bringing the game into disrepute, probably put them in jail, players with no characture nowadays, they all walk round the table like they have just lost a £20 note.

Poor old gabby, he can't even spell book, never mind write one. Just on what Ronnie was saying about the state of the game at the younger age levels, There just isn't the amount of clubs open, loads have closed in my city, how are you going to get kids playing the game if there are no clubs for them to play in, going down to the club wasn't just about knocking a few balls about, it was part of a kids education growing up, its a real shame.

He has got a magnetic personality topped by he’s truth and as it is telling,makes him a world apart from the other personalities,proof being how devastated he was when at such a early age wholeheartedly missed his dad when he went to prison!such personalities r so rare to come across in life and when one comes across who unlike others in public view are acting rather than being themselves in front of cameras,it’s refreshing to see a super star in the filled of his sport has such a intoxicating personality.

Ronnie must create some level of resentment with other snooker players. He doesnt practise like they need to, he plays with his left hand better than most can play with there normal hand and has played at the highest level longer than most manage, still winning regularly.

When Ally McCoist said he watched loads of that SnookerWorldChampionship I was thinking really?? I was thinking how does he have that amount of spare hours. I watched loads of it but I don't have a job in football at the same time. Then when O'Sullivan brought up Si jiahui and I saw Ally's face like he was thinking erm who are you talking about I realised yeah he was just bullshitting just trying to be nice. He obviously read up on the main things like Luca Brecel won it and Selby made a 147 in the final and although Si jiahui was also a big story from this year's tournament, because he didn't win it or reach the final he didn't think to look that up. I do notice with McCoist he always seems to overexaggerate everything over praise everything, agree with everyone I know it's better than being the opposite it's just it gets a bit ridiculous at times. How about if you didn't watch it say so and if you think something slightly different and actually have a unique opinion every now & again it's ok to say so.

Sometimes the pundits on a radio channel such as "Talk Sport" get a low down of the subject within 2hrs before the show. I get your point but I also think Ally done well to hold his own accord within reason 👀 easy for us to judge lol

O'Sullivan is the most watchable player I have ever seen. He and only he makes people watch the game. O'Sullivan said that Hendry is the greatest of all time. I think we need to listen to this. Hendry did it all in a shorter period of time and had to battle Davis and O'Sullivan himself. My favourite player is Ronnie, but I just feel that Hendry is the king. Anyone have a different view
@graemejack9040

I'm a diehard Hendry fan. I hated Ronnie for years because he was Hendry's greatest advisory. Then I stumbled upon a couple of KZfaq videos of Hendry interviewing Ronnie during lockdown and it utterly transformed my opinion of Ronnie. Just seeing how much he and Hendry genuinely liked, respected and admired one another was amazing. Since then I've gave immense thought to the GOAT debate and I think my conclusion is... Ronnie is the most naturally gifted and skilled player ever!His career longevity is phenomenal, his importance to snookers popularity is unrivalled and he now holds most of the records in the sport! He's a one off and there's nobody else like him!! There will equally never be anyone else like Hendry! Nobody will ever rule the sport the way he did! There's 21 years to between Ronnie's 1st and 7th world title! Hendry won 7 world titles in 9 years!! Hendry won 5 consecutive world titles!!! He went 29 consecutive matches unbeaten at the crucible! He went 29 matches unbeaten at the crucible! He went 36 matches unbeaten in ranking tournaments! He was ranked world no.1 8 consecutive years! He's still the youngest ever world champion at 21! There has never been another player who had more bottle/composure than Hendry!! There will never be another player like Stephen Hendry!! Every record he set that Ronnie has beaten has taken Ronnie a career almost twice as long to do so in a time where there are also far more ranking tournaments per year etc! I know it may seem like a cop out but I regard them both as the greatest. They both regard the other as the greatest so does it even matter what we think anyway? Stephen Hendry and Steffi Graf are my two personal favourite sportstars of all time! They both dominated/ruled their sports for a decade in a way that I don't ever see being matched. Yeah both their total majors/slams records etc have been surpassed by Ronnie and Serena ( the now goats of their sports ) however no snooker player will ever win 5 consecutive world titles ever again and no other tennis player will ever win the Golden Slam ( all 4 slams and Olympic gold in same season ) like Steffi did!
