FYI the sex scene climax was also a reference to a classic horror film. "The Exorcist" that's why she starts speaking in tongues, the pop shot is the puking & finally him being drain is the draining of the priest. I'm surprised you folks didn't discover it.

Dave Sheridan "Doofy" actually played the Ghostface character throughout this movie. He told me at the convention that he done all his own stunts. He almost broke his ankle during one stunt.

Scary Movie 1 and 2, where basically made by Keenan Ivory Wayans (Director), Shawn & Marlon Wayans (writers). Scary Movie 3,4 and 5 were basically made by David Zucker (Directed 3 and 4, co-wrote 5). There are plenty of interviews were the Wayans brothers talk about why and how they left the franchise, not gonna try to explain. 3 and 4 actually made more money than 2, tho I liked the first 2 better.

Yeah and then we got those shitty spoof movies like Epic Movie and Disaster Movie made by Jason Friedberg. And they had the nerve to say “from a guy who worked on Scary Movie.” but based on what I heared he wasn't even that involved. I think the Wayne’s brothers said he showed up to 2 meetings and that was it. It was like working on a group project and you have that one kid who didn’t do shit but still wrote his name on it to get credit. It was kinda like that. Because he technically “worked” on Scary Movie he was allowed to use that to advertise his shitty knockoffs.

Watching this for the first time in 20 years it is a little raunchy but that was the humor back then. I was in college when it came out and we loved it. It's by far the best one in the franchise.

Anything the Wayans Brothers do is comedy gold. Dave Sheridan "Doofy" is a nice and very cool guy and very funny. Met him at Scarefest horror convention here in Kentucky.

@DosCavazos 24:39 So the killers being gay or closet cases in Scary Movie is a reference to all the fan theories that were pretty much confirmed of Stu and Billy being gay in the first Scream. Or rather Stu was secretly gay and obsessed with Billy that’s why he helped Billy. If you rewatch it with that in mind Stu does say some pretty strange things and they are all over one another in a lot of the scenes.

Fun fact for those that may not know: Sarah Michelle Gellar who plays Buffy on the show Buffy the vampire slayer, was also in the movie I know what you did last summer. So that’s why this girls name is Buffy. She’s playing Sarah Michelle’s character from the movie but her character name from the show. 😂

So many classic moments. Weirdly the sheriff showing his lewds is probs my fav bit. That and the dad at the end saying the crazy bastards planted drugs all over the house lol. Some legit good jokes in this. Also the Doofy reveal is a huge film reference but I am not going to say for which film. It's much better not to spoil in case you guys ever happen to stumble upon it.

Yes, Scary Movie 2 is a must-see. It riffs on supernatural horror movies instead, like The Exorcist and The Haunting. Scary Movie 3 is a must-see. It's mostly Signs and The Ring, and it's made by the same guys who made Airplane! and The Naked Gun. Scary Movie 4 is still funny, and you can still watch it and enjoy it. But Scary Movie 5 should be avoided.

Surreal Humor is that which involve irrational or absurd situations (such as the camera running into Cidny, Ray being stabbed through the head with a penis, Ghostface trying to hide in the living room, and the Matrix style fighting scene). Scary Movie, Airplane, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Blazing Saddles are prime example of surreal comedies. These movies also happen to be parodies, spoofs or satires.

This movie came out when I was 16, so of course, me and my friends wanted to see crazy raunchy movies like this. I also forgot about that when I rewatched it a few years ago. Still pretty funny though. I love the Wayans brothers. "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" is one of my favorites.

This was a great movie, and well done by the Wayons Brothers. My favorite opening and my favorite scene in all of them are both in Scary Movie 2, so I think you'll like it. If you like Hot Shots, Airplane!, and The Naked Gun movies, the rest of the sequels to Scary Movie would be fun for you as well.
