If players and supporters do not approach a game thinking they will win, no point turning up. You face reality after the game. At least it is only a game!

Almost everything that guy said makes sense. You could see that he didn't like to think or speak about Germanys chances to win the tournament and that pretty much resonates with most of us Germans. Cautious and going step by step, focus on the next step but not getting carried away by thinking about things that are not ahead of you. Talent is important, work rate is important but it is also important to prepare for the next challenge and the next one will be huge. I also agree with him on England. A lot of hype, a lot of talk but it is almost never backed up by the things actually happening on the pitch. They always speak about winning the tournament even before the first ball is kicked and even now, after half a good game and 2 1/2 bad games, some English pundits speak about "an easy route to the final" as if their opponents are easy prey and let England easily proceed to the next round. Intentionally or not, this is extremely disrespectful to opponents and sets England up for another rude awakening.

The song “Footballs Coming Home” is about the constant yearning and the disappointment. Foreign fans don’t even understand that nuance. They are just convinced that we are singing that we are going to win the tournament. I find it amusing a German fan going on about arrogance!! At the moment, England are higher than Germany in the FIFA rankings that's who England are mate.
