Yes it's cool, but it means you need to put it into your deck and it's a hard garnet. I really don't think adding bricks is worth making the second effect live. Sure it's a better target than blue eyes or obilisk, but i don't think it's better than not playing a target for it at all.

@hannessteffenhagen61 I think it is way more low investment than the World, which is high investment, high risk for a high reward meanwhile Beast King is a singleton in a Deck goes plus 3 off one or two cards with a great return off 1 card

@@Anans1_Spyd3r yes, it's better than another bad card, but it's still pretty bad. Adding bricks for some potential better payoff that only works if you're already winning is usually not worth it.

It is the most optimal tech? Ofc not but floating from a banish from ABC to a field nuke is worth it for most games

Getting an extra blank body and an extra normal is not worth an ED slot and a garnet in the deck for most modern decks. Things like e.g. the melodious exist these days which are much better, and even they're not worth running in every deck. Most modern decks simply do not rely on normal summoning as much as decks in 2018. But aside from that, this isn't a remotely fair comparison. Brilliant Fusion gets _something_ starting from nothing but a single spell card. Running Barbaros gets you a pop if you succesfully tag out ABC or new-XYZ while having the new spell in GY and you haven't drawn Barbaros yet. That means it's conditionally a strong effect when you've managed to set up already, which IMHO isn't a very good justification to add a brick to your deck. Most people even cut things like in-archetype trap cards because they're sick of drawing them going second and would rather play more hand traps or board breakers, I don't see where you're gonna find the room to put a card that's actively bad to draw.

@@REvoLverj98 funny enough, they don't share monsters (Mizar in his final duel vs Kite didn't even summoned main deck monsters thanks to "the seventh one" bringing C107 immediately), but their final duel had a plot point about how "if both use galaxy-eyes, that means they most likely have the same spells and traps".

what's funny is you still have to run the original garnets if you want access to a-to-z for infinite negates

@iistonton It's only an extra deck light lock, and even if it was main deck it would still work since you're tribute summoning obelisk not special.

They're so conceptually cool, and they're the deck used by a season arc villain, they really deserve better. Sacred Beasts and Yubel got so much

Beast King Barbaros to nuke your opponent's board. Or, as shown here, The World so they just don't get to play, ever. Might be others, but all the ones I can think of don't have 3k+ attack.

I know it's the most boring option, but if it's Nibiru, that means you don't add any bricks to your deck, and you get a piece of insurance that makes it nearly impossible for your opponent to OTK you if they break your board. Then you have the entire ABC lineup in grave for your crack back. Seems busted to me.

The Duelists of [Attribute] sets are not strictly "only print monsters of this attribute." It's always been "cards representing duelists who predominantly used this attribute." The first pack, the Dark one, had some Water monsters for Marik, and the Wind pack had some Light monsters for Sherry.

Yeah!! idk how I feel about the special summon effect being 1 per duel but I guess you only need to play 1 anyway since you'll just mill it with Blue Tang and if you draw it you mill sea horse and special aqua angel instead from hand Doesn't look like there will be much of a grind game looking at the new cards, 1 turn or bust (idk about meta, just an outsider perspective)

These new guys only work with Light Machine Union monsters tho. They literally have restrictions that Lightlock you if you use their effects.

@@SirGrimLockSmithVIII the lock only occurs from the ED, so it's not really an issue. You would just do your Machina combo first, if you have it. That being said, I didn't realize their new spell only searched *light* unions, which is very unfortunate for Gearframe, but you still have all the other benefits, like being able to loop Fortress like crazy.

The Ra stuff is the closest to actual support while the Suit Knights and this are just poorly tacked on to legacy support of Completely separate decks because "they did it in the anime."

imo making an archetype goes against the nostalgia. There weren't many archetypes, just a bunch of dudes that had some incidental synergy. I like the new Spell in that regard because it doesn't explicitly call for a god card.

What do you mean by modular? It means that the effect specific copy on the field can only be used once per turn while it is the opponent's turn. However, if it were to be summoned from a public location (banished or gy) it would count as a new card, so you could use it again. Any card that says something like "once per turn: you can" means that the effect of that the restrictions apply to that copy and it can not be used again that turn if the controller of the card changes. But as stated earlier, reviving or summoning a new copy from the extra deck bypasses this. Any effect that say something like "you can only use this effect once per turn" means that each player can only use the effect of a copy of that card once per turn, and this is when you can take control of a monster the opponent and use the effect even of they already used it that turn.
