Pet rock gives you no stat upgrade, it's just a rock. It does give you an achievement when you beat a game with it maxed out though.

I've played a lot of games that has the same play style as this. The game breaking skills should be. AOE DPS, AOE DPS that blocks incoming enemies and projectiles, Non Target AOE Skills. Then focus on combination of Weapon Evolution.

This is worth watching a few episodes off more please

Not wanna sound rude (Really, I don't), but how about getting as few weapons as possible to max out the damage and also get Substitute? The entire reason you are dying over and over again is because you have no way to escape an incoming attack, the game is not about max damage, but survivability. And Substitute basically makes it so that you have a chance to avoid damage entirely and escape. As a famous card game once said and is still saying "Read the effects"
