An easy way to make mistakes in the transfer market is to throw money at players who aren't good enough but fit a need. Davies has Real Madrid quality and fills a need. He moves the needle. The other guy is more likely to be another Jovic than an upgrade over Joselu.

If Bayern Munich have another disappointing season regardless of whether they win the Bundesliga or not (they win it every year who cares) then I think Alphonso Davies is going to Real Madrid next summer. In my opinion Real Madrid has to sign Alphonso Davies next year they still have issues at left back because Fran Garcia has vulnerabilities at the back even if he’s good going forward Ferland Mendy is always injured and Carlo Ancelotti not trusting his natural left backs have meant that Eduardo Camavinga has had to fill in at that position a couple of times and while he’s done a good job his best role is in midfield not fullback. Alphonso Davies is currently one of the best fullbacks in the world he’s electric has a lot of pace a speedster and excellent dribbler his speed helps him recover on defense even if he’s not the strongest in that facet of his game. The player has won everything there is to win at Bayern Munich and even if they win the Bundesliga again if the season doesn’t go as planned for them then Alphonso Davies should leave Bayern Munich for Real Madrid and you can never turn down Real Madrid when they want to sign you l.
