I think the jail system isn't a smart punishment. waste of speed ups and alliance gift etc etc etc. Who decided this is a good punishment? Are they suitable for leadership with such decision? The best punishment is to compensate the kingdom bank with rss depending on the crime and points went above the mge limit. Remove that jail system asap

Favoritism and nepotism is one of the main problems most "established" kingdoms have, and it looks to me from your video that you are indirectly promoting favoritism. Most players spend in this game one way or another, some spend money, others spend time, and some spend both. Everyone should be subject to a kingdom's rules and punishments to set an example that there are no exceptions. I do agree that Drago's punishment was kinda harsh given the timing of KvK. Maybe a hefty rss fine and/or killing a few troops would have been a better sentence.

I believe this a good thing for the kingdom as it does not set a bad precedent of getting away with an infraction by virtue of being a celebrity or a whale. And yes the punishment could have been delayed. But what if an F2P was the one who committed the infraction. Would the kingdom be willing to delay the punishment too? So we go back to the rules of the kingdom. I believe it should apply to everyone equally.

Look at the real world. When a person breaks a rule, the consequences can have one or more of the following elements: (1) a compensatory component, so that the victims are paid for their losses; (2) a punitive component, to deter future rule breaking; and (3) isolation, to limit the harm that person might further inflict on society. If the person broke a rule because of a careless mistake and is remorseful, likely to not repeat the offence, just make him pay (1) and maybe a small amount of (2) as a slap on the wrist. Why go crazy with (2) and (3) when it is at the loss of both the kingdom and the well-intentioned individual? “Oh you wrote the amount in the wrong field on your tax return, admitting your fault and committing to be careful next time? No, paying the tax shortfall plus interest is not enough. Go to prison for a month and we don’t care that during this time you won’t work for the economy to earn a taxable income.”
@ThomasToPC
@ThomasToPC 2 жыл бұрын
Those who say “rules are rules” might only be looking at one aspect: enforcement. There is a bigger picture and that is rule design, which is even trickier because it involves morality, measurement of severity and fairness, victim compensation, psychology and marketing of deterrent effects, risk mitigation, long term effects on kingdom and reputation, etc. Rules are not just rules.

I get that apparently he is a good guy and does alot for his kingdom, but rules are rules. Now yes does this show the rules might need to be looked at, maybe. But rules are rules. I ask you, would you make a video, calling for the freedom for a nobody who feels the same way dragothien does, and is now in jail? His position, title and contributions do not excuse breaking the rules. Again I do think this does highlight a possible flaw in the rules, and maybe they can be re-evaluated. But as it stands now the law calls for jail time. I feel instead of calling for his freedom we should honor his sacrifice and devotion to his rules. He made the law, and when it would benefit him to change it he did not. He took his punishment with honor and I think more leaders should be like him.

I got my cousin to play the game. My cousin wasn’t very big into the rules and thought a lot of it was very restricting and he didn’t like them dictating on how we could play the game. So he did what he wanted to do he’s a much better player than I am I struggle with a lot of the stuff but he’s really good at games. So they turned on him and zeroed him a couple of times. Well my cousin like myself is actually quite stubborn and he considers them to be bullies and we were brought up to stand up to bullies so why does my cousin done. He has the kingdom now begging him to stop he has created a few very fast striking units that when they attack his city they go to his hospital and that’s it that’s all the troops he has and he’s hitting everything when they’re trying to do some sort of mission like arc over Cyrus he’s running around attacking the flags the farms even little cities he has become nothing but a thorn in their side several players of even left the kingdom to get away from it I asked him when is he going to stop and he said never the game has never been more fun so I think you should be very careful as to what rules you should try and force upon people because it can go horribly wrong.

I get the point you are trying to make, about leadership spending a lot of time to benefit the kingdom. The issue I see with this is that it is voluntary. Is it wonderful and nice? Yes. Is it extremely hard work? Hell, yes. But at the end of the day, leadership shapes the kingdom not only to benefit all the players in it, but also because it benefits them as well. As for the exceptions based on spending, this is an absolute no-go. Yes, it is very difficult to recruit very high-powered players, but by promising leeway you get those who then expect preferential treatment. That doesn't benefit the kingdom, especially as those then often fail to carry their weight. For example, as most kingdoms my kingdom also has kp/dead requirements for kvk. After an extremely difficult 2 days of fighting, the majority of players who had met their goals were f2p. Many whales weren't even halfway there. Not for lack of opportunity. Those high-spenders who hadn't met their goals (not saying that they won't) are new to the kingdom. And their experience in other kingdoms has shown that they are exempt from the rules that the rest of the kingdom has to follow. But if they are in the top 350 power-wise and do not meet their target they will have to leave the kingdom. They also won't get any kvk rewards. This might seem contra-productive at first, but because of those standards we have a huge player base, who give their all, because they know that treatment is always fair. And as you have mentioned when you talked about 75 becoming a swarmer kingdom, there is absolutely strength in numbers.

I agree with Chisgule. Even irl, judges take into account many variables revolving around the crimes committed and therefore different levels of severity of punishment even if its the same crime. Rules are rules but we dont just apply them so stiffly and with one-track mind. To be frank, I am sometimes annoyed by the rigidity in the rules enforcement in rok and the effort to appear “just and fair”; people who have studied laws know its the exact opposite though it appears neat on the surface.

Flexable rules create bias systems. If you make fair rules and enforce them unilaterally it creates a healthy environment. They're your rules. If something comes up where you see it becomes unbalanced (being in jail during KvK for a crime done before KvK), addendum the rule to compensate for it. Otherwise you're becoming a judge onto others and creating a value on people. Dangerous.

I’m a Leader of a second alliance. I share King & spend TENS of hours a week - not 40 but certainly more than 20 - running our team, participating on Council, running our ark teams & actively building the kingdom. I agree that Dragothien deserves/deserved a break. I know I would not be as good a player as I am (debatable but still) without his excellent & unselfish contributions as a content creator. I also agree wholeheartedly that players who don’t contribute significantly to leadership should generally ease up on criticism when leaders do something they don’t understand or agree with. Even the worst kings spend a fortune on kingdom buffs for the players & a lot of time managing kingdom affairs. It is HIGHLY stressful & can be extremely unpleasant to be the king sometimes. Players who are r3 are often shocked when promoted to r4 how much more they have to do. From r4 to r5, again, is a significant increase in hours of commitment, & to king is a big jump. Personally, I appreciate the commitment & contribution of all leaders & kings. Difficult to remember in times of frustration, but important to remind ourselves of. Great video with important points to consider.

They began hitting cities so as soon as KvK was over a civil war broke out to get rid of them (I do think their racist remarks towards Vietnamese and American players didn’t help their case, but hey) Don’t make rules if you yourself don’t follow them. If you think your own rules are dumb - take the punishment, and revamp them once your sentence is over.

the biggest issue with what you are suggesting are the parameters/circumstances on what player should benefit for mercy and who should not. in that case it should appear as a disclamer right under the mge tresspassing sanction and not an arbitrary decision oh it is dragothien he is a good player(some might disagree on that for example). On the other hand if you apply the rule the same way for everyone, no exception , no circumstance you ensure equality of all in front of the rule.

A Rule is a Rule. End! No Discussion! If the Rules are Bad, then change the Rules. Don’t use Gekko, he literally said long time before that everbody play for themselves or with friends and not for the Kingdom. I’m also not sure that Gekko knows in which KD he is after all the migrations.😂 Drago must go the hard way now to show his integrity. If he don’t follow the Rule, then it opens a Door for a lot of Bullshit in his KD bcs there is also a Time after this kvk.

how many hundreds of hours have you dedicated to helping your kingdom be a better place? I'm not talking about playing the game. I'm talking about making the kingdom better. @@Chisgule Honestly, who he is isn‘t even the biggest factor. In a situation like this (and this is from the perspective of a much younger kvk2 kingdoms leadership) we treat a player a lot differently if he helps/offers to help remedy it. You pushed people out of the position by accident but are willing to feed kills to solve it? Or simply message the people that have a disadvantage because of it and work out a solution that they agree with? You are absolutely not getting punished. That is simply not the same as, say, someone sniping MGE in the last hour of final sprint by feeding tonnes of kills from farm accounts.

@@Chisgule Well I agree with you that I don't support so hard punishments in the game. No body deserves special treatment in any way in this game, the problem is in the rules of the kingdom and that the rules is not fair and right, the point is that nobody should be treated better then others in this game if they break the same rule. I have not contributed to players coming into my kingdoms. I have fought 100 of hrs in this kingdom, if I don't have a vote in my kingdom for contributing in that way, then nobody deserves to have a vote.

If someone chooses to volunteer there time to lead a kingdom, that is there choice to make a kingdom they like 👍. Which in itself is there compensation. And if they think the violations are incorrect or damaging to the kingdom, then they have the biggest voice for reform. Which again is a plus to be a leader. So that being said there should not be a exception to the rule, especially for leadership. Leadership should lead by example, if not they are leading there people in the wrong direction. Just saying. I wasn’t in T2A during MGE so I wasn’t in to see comments when it happened. I have not seen his video about why or how it happened. But I legit never recall pitch forks going for his head. It’s normal within the confines of our alliance, T2A, to jostle, especially guys like Drago and other leaders because they take it well and we all have fun doing it. But to those reading these comments, and I hope those who watch after I comment, realize that 1916 does not go after players “like” Drago. We are not on witch hunts to jail and punish people who make small slips. During our first Fixed MGE I had some random t4 finish day 1 then miscalculated my training and went over cap by like 40k. It did not affect rankings it did not hurt anyone it was an honest mistake. I was never suggested by leadership to take the punishment and they forgave me. These rules we have agreed upon and put in place are there for those who are 1. Repeat offenders that think they can do what they would like without consequence. 2. To have it established that we take serious people who don’t take us serious. And why it is that we have established the rules. 3. To ensure that the fixed MgE that we have implemented if followed which saves our kingdom tons of rss and speedups during pointless kill events that could otherwise be used for KvK. Dragothien is king and could have easily blown it off but I see it as a member it the KD and say good on him. Let me assure you that the amount of chests purchased in our top alliances we are really “missing” 1 persons purchases. He isn’t really hurting from lack of helps. He has some real life stuff that should trump his game play anyways, if anything… this is the best time for him to be in “jail” to show his kingdom he respects rules implemented by the kingdom which, yes, includes himself. Honestly it is such a non issue that I didn’t know about it until 30 minutes ago when in Coalition chat it was mentioned because of THIS video. Chis, man, I know you don’t know me, I’ve followed you for a long time I’ve watched your content and really enjoyed it. But this feels icky. I appreciate you have an opinion and a platform. But no one here is worried or concerned for what a few days while Drago tends to family. The brilliance in Dragos kingdom is that he built and planned it so well that he can go sit in an alliance by himself and be with family while it’s still run smoothly. Can’t wait to see you all doing more OL vids!! Take care.

Like you said, rule enforcement is there for people like Talib and Maximum Chunder, people who truly do not give a fuk. Realistically a minor infraction like this could have been dealt with in so many different ways that would still a) punish him and b) still have his account benefit his kd. I would say that in light of his work for the kingdom they should put him in a minimum security prison (farm alliance for tech and helps) and allow regular conjugal visits (daily rejoining a top alliance for purchasing and gold chests when bundles refresh). It’s not perfect but negates the vast majority of the issues while providing an example that leaders can be held accountable too. I’ve done leadership and recruitment as well if that adds any weight to my words.

You make some pretty bad points Chis. Drago has done a lot but we have an officer core that actually has done a lot more than he has done for kingdom. Just facts. There is no loss for us in T2A lol. Drago isn’t even the primary gold chest contributor. And to pretend like that’s what matters is irrelevant. Also Drago himself imposed this rule and we have literally punished players for going up over by 1 point 😂😂. Rules are rules. And the king isn’t above his very own rules. This was A very non issue. I woke up and he was in jail. No one gets special treatments for anything. It doesn’t matter about contribution. If you impose the rules than you must love by them. Nice try getting clickbait views but this literally is irrelevant. No one batted an eye and plus the man is spending time with his newborn so again you reap what you sow. No such thing as flexibility when being punished 😂😂. Nice try though.

Leadership is super important, but so is everyone else in the kingdom, I mean look what happened to them against 846 all the leadership work didn't matter because many players in the kingdom didn't show up, so I think showing favoritism for someone in leadership isn't the way to go, because everyone else showing up to fight/participate in the kingdom is just as important as the work leadership does. I think Drago is doing the right thing and serves as example to everyone else.

Dragothien is an experienced player and he should know not to do make testing content during mge. There are enough other days to do that. I agree the timing is very bad, though, and it would have probably been better to postpone it until after kvk. But I wouldn't play in a kingdom with flexible punishments depending on who the offender is. And even though I don't have the money Dragothien spends, I spent a lot on this game too. And spent thousands of hours in leadership and /our giving titles, so yes, I know what that means. But if leadership means being above the rules it's not leadership it's dictatorship.

I believe rules are rules. But Drago really needs to reconsider the kd rules. The punishment needs to be something that at least benefits the kd. Like rss contribution or something. Mistakes happen. Mad props to him for serving it. I've got the utmost respect for players who don't complain and own their mistakes. The downside of making exceptions on punishments is you're opening Pandora's box to all kinds of biases that can make things super awkward

All that is a part of it. We used to have a big issue with rule breakers. And the penalty was a week outside main alliances and 100 mil of each to the kingdom bank. So after a while they decided to make an allaince where those individuals would go to. And the kingdom bank would be in the jail. So it’s a win win plus no one is above the rules.
