The difference here is Triton has a very good reputation for making subs that go to that depth regularly. They do stress tests and they design their subs to be safe unlike ocean gate. Triton has a good history of making good subs. And another huge thing. They aren’t making it on a shoestring budget. Every sub that has visited the wreck before oceangate used a similar design to Tritan’s and there has never been an issue. Tritan makes subs that go into the Mariana Trench. Far more reputable than the dollar store oceangate.

I have a take that I think is totally reasonable. 1. It's unfortunate that a lack of safety regulations caused 5 accidental deaths. 2. It was a mistake for the US news to spend a week covering the incident non-stop. It was newsworthy, but it didn't need to be front-page news for the whole week. 3. The lack of compassion I saw online was disturbing.

@@partydude4226 Yes actually. James Cameron did do a solo dive down to challenger deep in deepsea challenger. which given that Cameron did both dives down to Challenger deep and the titanic. (plentiful times for titanic) made him have some credibility to his opinions of the matter when he was asked about the titan submersible. Don't think deapsea challenger was made by Triton too, but point is, multiple companies have had experience with depths almost 3 times as deep as the titanic. Haven't read too much into it on both dives if an issue arose that caused an earlier return to surface in either case, but the parties involved in the dives down there survived it.

Fun fact, the cybertruck DOESN'T even work. They're all being recalled for numerous reasons, but the biggest one was a shitty plastic panel that was coming unglued from the accelerator pedal and getting stuck under something, forcing the car to drive on *full fucking throttle* . Theres also just so many other issues that I don't even want to sit here for the next 20 minutes typing them all out. Just the selling point that the Cybertruck "doesn't break" is already a design failure. A car HAS to "break" to dissipate the force of a crash, if the car doesn't break you will. Same applies to bike helmets btw, you want a sturdy one but also will bend or break to take the hit for you.

Guys just so you are aware, Triton also made the current world record holder for deepest diving submarine called the DSV Limiting Factor. It has reached the deepest point of every ocean. Also the bubble cabin design is a standard design because the sphere cancels out most of the pressure on its surface. The main promblem with the sub was around where the windows was connected the the body of the sub. It & around it had taken damage from "each dive" at such high pressure dephths, before the micro damage had accumulated to the point it would give way to the pressure near to at such depths. Im glad you made the main issue of the controller it being wireless though, as Having a controller for a 3D movable craft isn't actually a bad idea, as long as it both works and has no lag.
