Soyeon was imitating Betty Boop's voice in the MV and teaser The use of Nxde here is not as a adjective but as a noun. Nxde is a noun for someone who is fully exposing themselves to criticism and baring all of themselves to the world without inhibitions. They are not naked but a nxde Most people are familiar with typical Kpopish sounds so it's normal if people are not used to something different, so give it a multiple listen All other songs in the album are amazing, title track worthy and every b-side is charting inside Melon (Korea), something that only one or two top girl groups can do (along with Blackpink)

When i first listened to the song i didn't quite know what to think but as soon as the final chorus kicked in i knew this was quickly going to be my favourite song. (This next part btw is my perspective as a Media student) I love the concept of old classic and the way that the girls visually represent the objectification and sexualisation of women throughout the years (whether it be through greek sculpture or marilyn monroe as the sex icon of the 50's or even the talented performers of the Moulin Rouge) and matched these visual elements with contrasting lyrics. For example, at the start when Minnie starts the first verse (0:19) she starts by referencing Marilyn Monroe's famous 'diamonds are a girl's best friend' scene from 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' (a scene which largely contributed to her societal-christened title of 'sex icon'). (G)-idle clearly understand this, however, as Minnie sings the lyrics "Slightly dumb the way I talk, but I’ve got sexy, sexy figure" ironically to reference the 'dumb blonde' archetype that Marilyn faced despite her intelligence. I also love love LOVE the way that they are calling out the viewers who are watching the music video expecting something sexy and R-rated just because the comeback is called nude. Exhibit A: (1:38) "Excusez-moi, to all of you who are sitting here If you were expecting some rated R show Oh I’m sorry, but that’s not what we’re showing" By rapping these lyrics, Soyeon is almost breaking the 4th wall to the audience, addressing the certain viewers who came to watch 5 women sexualise themselves for popularity and left to being scolded by 5 powerful women who aren't ashamed of who they are and refuse to be objectified. To a certain extent you could argue that the 'certain viewers' the girls are talking about are those who have come to commit an act of voyeurism (whether they realise it or not) Exhibit B: (3:12) "Why you think that ’bout nude ’Cause your view’s so rude Think outside the box Speak out" "My beautiful self My beautiful self I’m born nude You’ve got a dirty mind Rude" In this final chorus, (G)-idle are announcing one final time that society needs to progress past the concept that women's value comes from her looks and are judged on their body type, face, make-up ability, styling, etc; everyone's 'born nude' so why should women be sexualised and scandalised for that. (sorry it's so long! i just had to share my thoughts and analysis ^-^)

Straykids too (they are on another level) , but seriously gidle is really talented especially minnie and soyeon. Blackpink is really really talented too and I'm not trying to compare...gidle has been a self produced group most of the time. Self produced doesn't only make them great but they have a very unique concept to put out too. I hope blackpink can also showcase their talent like them too cause now they have became a global sensation....many people look up to them. When they find that every song of them was written and produced by yg then it wouldn't be a great impression of them.

See I agree with this. I admire Soyeon a lot for what she does for the group but honestly I would like to see other members shining too in title tracks. For instance, even though Miyeon is my favourite and I would've liked to see more of her, I think Minnie was the one that fit this concept the most yet she barely even appears and sings. People are saying that, well the distribution is getting better because Shuhua has more lines; and yes it is true however even with that Shuhua still sings almost nothing, it just seems a lot because we're used to her not singing at all (and notice that for her to have more lines a member had to leave lol). This group doesn't really seem like a proper group with different positions and habilities, it just seems like "Soyeon and her girls" instead of (G)-Idle.

Look I understand your point, but honestly, what’s most important is that all members are happy with it. And they seem like they have no issue with it, at least to me. So this shouldn’t be made into an issue. All the members seem to love soyeon and what she does for the team, so unless they bring it up as a problem, we shouldn’t speculate and make assumptions to turn nothing into something.

@@lubbl1238 Many? Lol. In Hwaa Minnie sings the pre-chorus and the bridge, both shared with Miyeon. I could only agree with Tomboy. But even with that she was the one fitting the best this concept, alongside probably Shuhua. And y'all have to stop gaslighting yourselves, the line distribution is extremely unfair. For reference, in Dreamcatcher's latest song "Vision", Gahyeon sings the least and she still got more lines than everyone except Soyeon here. Both songs are almost the same length and Dreamcatcher is a 7 member group whereas G-Idle is a 5 member group. Stop coping.
