it is 14. At 14 you're able to consent to having sex with other people between 14 and 18 years of age. an adult is not, however, allowed to sleep with you (fellow German here.)

So a 12 year old could have sex as long as the person they have sex with is 14 or under. My first boyfriend and I started dating when he was 17 and I was 15, and that would have been fine, but then he turned 18 and I was still 15 so it wouldn't have been fine for the 4 months or so between our birthdays. That said, we never had sex anyway and he broke up with me after he turned 18 because he started to feel weird about the age gap which I can respect
