Here is an Older video I took in late 2022 from my first visit to this property since the KONE Modernization on the Main Elevators here was completed. At the time the Main Elevators in Tower 1 (the Original Tower) were getting modded back in 2020-2021, I thought the original Service Elevators would FOR SURE be getting modded too! Especially since these elevators are located in FLORIDA which as we all know is a State that loves to needlessly destroy cool and interesting elevators, and at the time of the Main Elevators being modernized, I saw on MyFloridaLicense that these were supposedly going to be Modernized by KONE as well and I assumed I'd come to this hotel again to find these Service Elevators being modernized. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE though, this turned out NOT to he the case, and BOTH banks of Service Elevators in Tower 1 were still original Elevonic 401s, which I waa extremely happy about since Otis Elevonic 401 is one of my most favorite elevator models of all time and these are almost surely the last of their kind in Central Florida. And to see these survive the KONE Modernization to the Main Elevator made me really happy..... Oh wait, did I just mentioned they survived the KONE Modernization!?! Well, they did, but for those of you guys who don't follow me on Instagram, let's just say that within the past month something regarding these has changed..... I'll save that for another video though.
