As an independent artist who put out her first EP this past September, I feel this. There’s that initial rush… and then you get busy, and can’t follow up with social media, and suddenly all the hype is gone. I poured my heart and soul into that project, layering acoustic instruments and many harmonies, and come back to find out the law in my state changed, so I can’t even show my students who were so excited to see it. I’m a high school chorus teacher, for context. It was a lot of work for what felt like nothing in the end. I’m still writing though, and hoping I can find the time to put out another one next summer. Album is called A Dusted Rose, if anyone wants to listen.
