I don't think there is any plug and play that includes everything. There is custom built arcades that use a raspberry pi with retropi installed on them. A PC is also an option. You would need a decent amount of storage to get complete Gamesets for each system. More for the "newer" consoles like Dreamcast, PS1, PS2 and Xbox. Older consoles like Atari, N64, NES, SNES take up barely any memory and can be emulated on any PC pretty easily.

Reviewers need to immediately call out the BS on these consoles. You are not getting 100K games. Yes, ETA mentions it, but like so many others, he glosses over it and still adds it to their headlines anyway for clickbait. It's padded with clones, broken roms, and other nonsense. By the time you get to the "higher end" consoles, so many of them have issues that it's not even worth buying.

So refreshing to see someone giving these little boxes a fair review and not just crapping all over them. Granted, they do struggle with some of the more modern games and there are tons of duplicates and a few games here & there that just refuse to run but for the amount of games that do run well and the ease of being ready to go right out of the box I think they're pretty neat little systems. This one actually looks like one of the better ones, I may end up picking this one up myself. Thanks for the honest, fair review. 👍 Looks like I'll be waiting to snag this one, currently out of stock.

This is a great buy and love having it. I wanted to add that a LOT of the games in there have multiple versions. There are US, Euro, Chinese, Japanese versions of the same game. Some, like Street Fighter and King of Fighters, have many versions. The the real number of individual games is therefore far less than advertised since the 100,000 number includes all the different versions. Its not a big deal because it’s still a huge amount of games to try.

@o-SPECTRE-o
@o-SPECTRE-o Жыл бұрын
@@andrewcarpino1838 yes, they’re the same games. They mostly run as normal. You can save the usual way, as you would with the original games, and you have a separate save state option that can be accessed where you can pause and save anywhere you want (I can’t remember what the button combo is though). There is two player option, but on this machine you only get two USB ports. One is used up by the memory card that has the games which leaves one open port for the joypad dongle. You can use a separate usb splitter to connect more joypads, or in my case I just used the 8bitdo pro SN30 joypad which connects without needing a dongle.

Not that I can't it's just I work a lot so it saves me a lot of free time. I think for 99 bucks this thing is a pretty good deal but if you wanna play 6th gen titles and some ps3 as well as 360 emulation a pre configured hard drive is the way to go if you have a decent pc. It's just nice to have all those games ready to go on a dedicated drive and not have to go to rom sites and bounce around trying to find the right download button.

So, I bought a Sumosys emulator system a few years ago and has 11k+ games on it. Definitely one of my favorite purchases of all-time, but I hate how poorly made the controllers are, they ALL break (B button ends up sticking) and I have already gone through half a dozen or more of them. This system you reviewed definitely has more recent generation consoles/games on it then the one I have and looks pretty good. Not sure how much it costs and whether the controllers are issue like on the system I have, but I really appreciate you posting this review!!! Thank you!!

Yeah i got a sumosys 700 back in 2017 or 2018. I agree the controllers aren't great, one of my d-pads broke and even the player 1 usb port got so loose it would disconnect VERY easily. But also about a year ago it started glitching out sometimes and bouts of random slowdown and/or speedup would happen, in some games more than others. Got to the point where it became basically unplayable and so last week i sadly called it a day and put it away for good 🥲. $150 CAD i got 4 or 5 years out of it, not bad i guess 🤷

A fellow "Street Supremacy" enjoyer! I believe the biggest reason it didn't do well is the name. It's part of Genki's "Shutokou Battle" series in Japan. At the time most of the series had been published in the West by Crave under the fairly well known "Tokyo Xtreme Racer" branding. For some reason Konami ended up with the global rights to the PSP entry from Genki; but not the rights to the "TXR" brand, as that belonged to Crave. So, Konami had to use a new, and unknown, brand name for it. I think if Crave had gotten it and called it something like "Tokyo Xtreme Racer Portable" it'd sold considerably better.

I like racing games, but I've never been crazy about this series. I think it's the fact that all the races take place on bland highway loops at night. Also, I much prefer racing games where you try to place first after so many laps, rather than the health bar style of these games.

Lets see... it's $100, or $130 for the upgraded model, that boasts, 82k games, or 100k games if you pay the extra $30, pre-loaded. Yet I can't find a list of games anywhere, and I can't help but be skeptical because of the vast number of "rights" issues involved in a package like this. We all know Roms are technically illegal if you don't own the game in question. Your link to the machine works, but ironically, there is not one single review on Amazon. Not one. Not even a fake one saying how great this thing is. You keep saying in the video we might want to upgrade the controllers... upgrade to what exactly? Maybe you said, but I admit I skimmed your video. It's 10 mins long and includes a bunch of information I was able to find by skimming the purchase page. The information I want to know: What games?.... you don't have on your channel. This whole thing stinks of a setup where they sell you a bunch of cheap hardware thrown together, and sell it to you until they get a cease and desist, and then offer you zero warranty or product support and then change the name and sell it again on a different page.

There are always lots of options, depending on what you want to achieve, your budget and your skill levels. I think $130 is quite a lot for a retro gaming box. You can pick up an 'old' i3/i5 PC for next to nothing, or even just a Core 2 Duo, and it will still vastly outperform a cheap Android box. This doesn't seem bad at all for people who just want to get up and running right away. 100,000+ games is a bit overkill, especially when multiple games are simply either in different languages or versions. But I guess saying you have 100,000+ games makes people want to buy it more. Personally, I curate my own collection. I've got about 22,000 retro games on my Steam Deck, no duplicates (unless you count MAME Pac-Man and Atari 2600 Pac-Man as a duplicate then yeah I got some duplicates....), and full collections of many systems. If you play with these controllers alot they will only last about 6 months, then they stop working and the directional pads on them don't work very well, but the movement sticks on them work pretty well

I'm surprised that ETA doesn't start an eBay store to sell off the stuff he never uses, like Retro Game Corps. Or dispose of them with contests on the channel. Then he can write off the cost of the item + shipping as a business expense on his taxes.

This is a great machine for retro games and it plays every game as soon as you hook it up to your tv and turn the power on. My only complaint is the input lag on the button prompts. It takes a good half a second to respond to after you press any button.

FYI for the future if you want to pick a PS1 game thats hard to emulate especially a fighting game you should pick Tobal #1 or its sequel Tobal 2 or Psychic Force. Ive found those are trickier than Bloody Roar 2.

So this looks like it would be a great plug and play. I have a question do any OpenBor games come preloaded with this system? I could never get them to work on my build.

It's like an IKEA video game console, just put it in and play any emulation. While you can play most emulations on your computer too, for free, using Windows, Apple or Linux. On the Retron 5 I noticed you can play 5 different console games but I could see and hear the difference between the original games I grew up with. If you're serious about this, go get an old CRT-screen and every console and game cd/cartridge original. They will last longer too ànd they will allow you to put in a zapper or other light-gun. I have a GameBoy, GameGear, NES, SNES, SMS, SMD, SS and SDC, all original with scart cable or even antenna ànd an original arcade cabinet form 1991, also with CRT-screen. Only the micro-switces needed to be renewed. It was a big investment but so worth it.

I vastly prefer the X button on the bottom, not the left, when I use a controller. Bugs me to no end that moving the x button is how they keep gamers loyal to their brand. Having to look down at the controller everytime the key prompt comes up has always slowed down my game play on Xbox controllers
@TheFishE77Official
@TheFishE77Official Жыл бұрын
The X button position has been on the left for longer than it was ever on the bottom, with one of the first iterations being the Megadrive 6-button (1988), in which the top row buttons the "X" was the left-most on that layout. The Super Nintendo (1990) had the "X" button as the uppermost in its diaganal layout. When the Sony Playstation launched in 1994, it was one of the first to do away with letters (typically the ABYX or ABCD) and use shapes instead. Since then, the majority still use the letter format, and more brands have used the left side layout for "X" than not.

I remember buyying console X thinking it was the neatest thing ever. But then I built my own raspberry pi 4 computer. And...really? I can't go back. The performance was just so much better for the price point.
@another3997
@another3997 Жыл бұрын
Horses for courses. At the moment, you can't get hold of a Raspberry Pi 4 at a decent price. Then you have to "build" up the system, a case, fan, PSU, SD card etc. Then you download all the emulators and games, organise them and set it all up. Personally, for that much effort, I'd rather use an x86 PC or laptop which will run everything at full speed. But sometimes people just want a cheap, quick and easy solution.
