Thomas Jane was the best Punisher in my opinion. I would have liked to see several films with him in that role. The tv series is not bad either, though the drama with Billy Russo became tedious after awhile. The Punisher's main value is in exacting vengance.

Agreed, Thomas Jane deserved a sequel, the series was good but he (TJ) re-imagined the character. Dolph Lundgren brought him to the big screen

I liked this movie. I think it was way above average for this sort of film, because Thomas Jane was pretty believable as a man driven by pain and revenge. And how he played all the characters against one another like chess pieces was brilliant. John Travolta was damn good as well. Laura Harring (as stunning now as she was when she played in General Hospital back in the 90's) was great although I felt no pity for her character. Her end was brutal, but Howard was going to get his revenge by just ordering Frank's death. His wife (Livia) is the one who wanted Frank's entire family killed. Completely innocent men, women and children. She set their deaths into motion. So, she has just as much, if not more blood, on her hands than Howard. And Will Patton (Quintin) is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood.

So Johnny, the mob boss' son, was the one who ran over Frank's wife and son, and the one who shot Frank on the pier. Frank actually gave Johnny a delayed death by making him hold the explosive for a few minutes, instead of just shooting him right away.

Great movie and great cast. Watched it many many times. Its very well done and very detailed but i dont see it as a superhero movie as it is supposed to be, but more like a gta type movie of revence and vengence. And by the way the russian is the famous wwf wrestler kevin nash aka diesel.
