They Turned the ENTIRE WORLD into a Nuclear Power Plant in Satisfactory Update 5
Satisfactory Update 5 world tour checking out a world that's been completed converted into a massive nuclear power plant. They used all the world's resources to create as many nuclear fuel rods and plutonium fuel rods as they possibly could, and turned that into power! I'm just curious how they dealt with all the nuclear and plutonium waste though...

Oh, and some more facts: - We use roads mostly because they are convenient to transport power cables underneath (lots of them) because we want to control all facilities on the central power switches - We are running a regular world and have a lot of distributed factories to transport goods (mostly vast quantities) via drones to our main facility and storage - overflow is shredded on all lines. The nuclear plant has it's own dedicated productions which transport goods exclusively via trains. - The water buffers (alone) actually took only two evenings, but the entire water supply is close to 100+hrs :P - Turning on the plant alone took me 30+ hours because the buffers for the fuel rods are so massive that they needed one entire day to fill up... even with 50.4/min. - And we're Swiss, not Germans (yes, also Swiss guys can be organized :D )

Nice Job on it BTW. I also have a maxed out Nuclear plant on my world. Recipes I used are a little different though. I went for a straight 50 nuclear fuel rods/min and the excess goes into the plutonium setup. I'm outputting about 20 plutonium rods/min on my playthrough. Using a mix of the Plutonium pellet recipe and the instant plutonium cell recipe. You're build is much more aesthetic then mine though.

I made a setup for 300 uranium pm, I went with the recipes for the best uranium use without a care for the other resources and it ran 36 reactors and made 90GW, I'm gonna make another 6 to use all the uranium on the map and make 63GW total. And it takes 11GW I think and I have a coal setup that + geysers that can restart it as all the processing apart from aluminium and rubber as they take a lot of infrastructure and side products

all-in would be awesome, but unreal considering this is already rendering my and Kibitz's Framerate almost unplayable. However if you remove the aesthetic parts, you could achieve better performance. My goal was simply to max out the uranium mines *without waste*, and I just chose the recipes that were best feasable - so it could be that by using other recipes, you would get even more power out of this...

With how organized this dude is, i think the only thing that could possibly break his world is a new update that drastically changes how Nuclear Power & Nuclear Waste works. And even then, he has an enormous power reserve in his massive battery and Turbo Fuel setup. The battery alone has "63 Gigawatt Hours of Power." 2:00 And the Turbo Fuel setup has a potential of "80-120 Thousand Megawatts" 5:30 All this on top of a highly detailed and organized setup that puts Kibitz's to shame. Problem solving would take only an hour at most I would think. And with the control panel setup, it would be very easy to shut down parts of the world while keeping production rolling. So I seriously think this world is *"disaster proof."* And for good reason.
@florianmuellerCH
@florianmuellerCH 2 жыл бұрын
Well ..... when "disaster strikes" my Battery with the 63GWh only keeps the factory running for around 30mins, as it uses about 130GW per hour... so yeah still doomed, no way you can fix this beast in half an hour ^^
@dragonoidsix
@dragonoidsix 2 жыл бұрын
@@florianmuellerCH but it can keep the Turbo Fuel production going. And the Turbo Fuel can keep most of the base online if Kibit’s power production estimate is correct. That would allow you to jump start the reactors once you solve any issues.
@florianmuellerCH
@florianmuellerCH 2 жыл бұрын
@@dragonoidsix The deliveries for the nuclear power plant (which are connected via train) do really already need up to 80ish GW, so that's why there are so much buffers above the railway station. However on one line there's 8000+ quickwire coming in, this buffer only keeps this running for maybe an hour? So the deliveries need to be running, and the turbofuel only produces around 50GW (and the coal plant 10+GW), so we're in a situation where I am (even when turning all other factories for basic materials off) using up the batteries ... it's a shame, but the same problem as with nuclear fusion: You need energy to produce more energy ;D
@dragonoidsix
@dragonoidsix 2 жыл бұрын
@@florianmuellerCH With how organized your base is, I can’t help but think you’d fix any issue before your batteries are dry. And even then, you can stagnate the activation of your Reactors. @florianmuellerCH

With the plutonium and uranium, that is 1,000,000 megawatts, one a ONE TERAWATT FACILITY. For perspective, the US consumed around 4000 Terawatt-hours in 2022 (via statistica). Since there are a bit over 8700 hours in a year, that means that in a year, this generation facility would produce 8000 Terawatt-hours of energy. This power plant could power two entire United States and still have some room to spare. That is *absurd*

My guess is that they play a lot of other factory/engineering games. It's also likely they studied or work as an engineer or programmer or similar. I know this is old, but I"m currently working on a theory in satisfactory that will make these 50 power plants look adorable. The world looks pretty (architecture isn't me). but I am certain I could pass 1TW of power with my theory... but only if you use plutonium, which would create a need for a storage facility on the very edges of the map , even though it'd be less waste the only choice you would have is to delete storage crates after deconstructing multiple containers (world edit but at that point it's only doing it to do it. The maximum theoretical power is pretty close to what he's producing in this video with all of those reactors, but mine will maybe be oc'd, maybe not, not sure yet. There's one thing that i'm sure of though... that getting the balance of uranium waste to plutonium is very hard and doesn't work with conventional math for some reason because so much is produced and consumed >.
