Dr Nancy gets super concerned when someone steps forward to adopt Chatty. David almost gets crushed by shavings, volunteers come out and help, one of the Paso's rescued at the last auction has an emergency, and there's a lot more. It's a great episode of the week's happenings at our shelter!

@@archangel807 apparently it’s possible, but not likely, in Tennessee. The horses could have come from elsewhere. There are not good laws at either the federal or state level for the most part because horses are considered livestock, which has a different cruelty standard. How that level of starvation apparently isn’t cruel is mind boggling

@@annepettit3855 We have stopped city carriage horse abuse here due to public outcry...And you cannot starve your farm animals here or you will be in court. ASPCA is working in Congress to make Horse Auctions illegal as they are dump sites for injured horses.(racetrack) and slaughter...These starved horses had to be caged..... if they were on a field they could graze....so heart breaking.....Need more public awareness and outcry against this.....

Not only the starving horses but also the helicopter round ups that the bureau of Land Management do to remove mustangs, they injure and kill so many horses. Laws need to be changed and horses and burros need to be protected.

Please pass THIS TIP for hiccups...Hold your breath and swallow 3 times. The last swallow is the hardest and then take a normal breath. Stops those hiccups about 99% of the time!!! SERIOUSLY!! Much love for all the lives you save!!!

I've got another one. Let all your breath out then start sipping water for as along as you can before you need to stop and take a breath. Sometimes you might need to repeat it once. But it only takes a few seconds and then you're good. The one I usually hear is take a deep breath then drink water. But it should be the opposite.

I have to add my best fix too, it has never failed me yet. Hold your breath for 30 seconds as timed on a clock. You can't count to 30, you make it too short or too long plus I think the focus on clock or watch or phone or timer helps the process.

John's work and the team who works with him do such a great job at telling the story of Horse Plus! Life can be so rich when you get to do work that fills your heart and is meaningful. John & the media team are outstanding & I really enjoy the creativity of the videos. For those of us who don't live close and want to support the work you're doing we can contribute financially, purchase pizza for the staff or buy items from the Amazon wish list & Tractor Supply, etc. The woman who paid the adoption fee for Chatty to be with his favorite person was a clever way to help. The smile on Dr. Nancy's face when the news was shared says it all. Thanks for all you continue to do. You not only lift up the lives of the animals in your care but our lives as well by telling the story of Horse Plus. Cheers!

hey, You might contact the Houston area HSPCA to look into life-saving slings for sick animals to be able to stay "on foot" up. it's gentle, spread-out across the ribcage and belly support, preventing pressure on the internal organs. I don't know if this is the number for that, but it might get you where you need to go. I saw these on Animal Cops Houston. The slings seem to attach to the rafters of your stalls and if i remember correctly, they have a bag holder attached to them.

I love Glimmer so much, it hurts my heart. Is he so head shy from abuse, or the pain of the warts? Gosh id love to give him a cuddle, I'm so sorry Glimmer, I hope that you never know anything other than love..cos you have suffered the trauma of my nightmares:( this one made me cry, when the starving colic girl was not compatible with life, i knew when she put her head in dr nancy's lap, she was tired rip sweet girl

Great video with lots in it. Sad about the little Paso though. Glad Chatty has been adopted. One question - who sings the title song?
