your chickens needsome straw, they like to snuggle in the straw and on the bottom straw will harbor bugs for them to scratch in. a ramp would help them also. love you all.

Please make a ramp for the chickens to get into the coop. It’s not that difficult to put some cleats on a piece of plywood and hang it for them! Chicken feed or cracked corn won’t cut it either. They need calcium too for egg laying. Glad to see that you used a limb for the roost and you need to put straw or hay in the entire coop floor.

Jason, you might want to consider removing the mats and installing a remnant piece of linoleum and attach it up the walls approximately 6-12”. With linoleum, you just use a squeegee with a handle to scrape off the sides and bottom before moving. Using woodchips spread out over the floor will soak up their urine and keep your coop smelling sweet! Once a month after raking out the woodchips for the next move spray down the linoleum with bleach water and squeegee it out! Sanitized and delouse/demited!

Are you going to fix it for Critters and snakes can't get underneath there they need a ladder and they need a window with the screen and it not a window but a screen because of the smell they need Aaron that chicken coop I'm glad to see that you're working on it I know you can figure this out without having to be told what to do

the boards you used on the wheels need to be at least 3 feet longer.... mount them directly to the bottom board... you need to be able to stand in between the coop and the lifting bar, then you pick it up just like you are lifting weights... so much safer, easier to lift and better for your back, ... inside make a ramp trap door, once they are inside and on their roost for the night you can close the trap door/ramp and they are safe for the night... in the morning you can move them without having to catch them... move the coop and then open their trap door/ramp and their good to go in their new spot

Youve had them long enough you can turn them loose. I usually wait about 2 hours before dark. They get a little freedom. And wont go to far. Then show them how to go to bed at sundown. Most chickens lay in the morning. So i hold back letting them out untill after eggs are laid. Your going to love fresh eggs. This property is coming together so much easier than the last one. I know your going to be bringing Lambeau home soon. Try to get some field seed down why you have spring rains to help it grow. You two inspire me.

As you pull them through your Garden site use Alphalpha not straw in the bottom of the coop. It coast more but it is a small coop and the alphalpha is better for your garden than straw. The chickens will eat it as well. Then give it back in poop 😁 Your garden will get a great start in fertility!

I use those mats in the bottom of each nest box and bedding on top. In addition I have usb fans in each nest box. On the floor of the coop I use paver sand and clean it daily like kitty litter. On my floor I used waterproof paint to save the plywood. The paint has been down for a year and look like new.. I have 8 chickens. I have a extra coo similar to the one you built and have been wanting to make it Mobil. I am heading to Harbor Freight tomorrow. Thank you.

Jason, if you get 2 square, metal electrical box covers and some 1/2 PVC pipe, or 2 more of the round brackets you used for the handle, and screw them to the inside of the 2*4s where the wheels are, they will last a lot longer. Cut the PVC pipe to the length of the excess bolt length and slide them over the bolts between the wheels and bracket and the wheels won't slip around.

If you use sand you can scoop the poop out daily and won't need to replace for at least a year. I used to have a small rake that I could pull to me for the hard to reach areas. Saves time and energy and no smell.
