He technically did the same thing, it was cut off in this video (probably bc of copyright) but if you rewatch the part in this episode where Undertaker pulled out his scythe then you can see it was on his back. One of his wooden boards (not sure what it’s called) turned into his death scythe just like on the campania (Book of the Atlantic). Just wanted to point out this detail.

About the new red house prefect, in the manga we did see his face but he turned out to be some random kid we have never met, not Joan or Maurice I have never seen yana toboso(the author) answer anything about this, so here is my theory! The prefects and other seniors can choose their drudges from different lower year students freely, it doesn’t have to be in year orders. Bluewer(the blue house prefect)(6th year) picked Clayton(5th year) and Clayton picked Ciel(1st or 2nd year?) Even so, the students who are able to be next prefects have to be 5th year students( prefects have to be 6th year students) Redmond did pick Joan as his drudge, but he didn’t become prefect. So Joan must be in 4th year or the year lower than that. In that case, the prefect’s drudge is not 5th year student, the school themselves might have to pick 5th year student from red house who has highest grade instead. Hope I don’t confuse anyone. English is not my first language!🙏🏼 it’s just a fun theory so please don’t take it seriously💙

Yeah latest manga developments imply that Undertaker does have somebody who he wants to bring back though not all of his motives were clarified yet. However let’s not forget Ciel’s personality: he’s throwing away the normal life he could’ve had on purpose. Both to focus on his path to revenge and (imo) to ward away the innocent people around him.
