I remember as a kid I had a bootleg translated version of Pokémon Crystal. It was japanese based ROM with poorly english translation. It had the GS Ball event available, but after some months playing it a lot of weird glitches happened. To name a few, I remember that the Goldenrod Communication Center became a regular Pokémon Center after a while, my Trainer Gender had forcedly switched mid-game and even Pokémon vanishing from PC was a thing (I still remember the feeling of losing a Celebi after catching it on a second playthough). Also, for some reason, Sudowoodo was able to learn Fly and to this day I still want it to be canon. Don't know what that translation messed up with the game, but it was fun to see those glitches happening.

Good to see that you solved the first one (disappearing sprite)! A few weeks ago I was determined to find a spot which would trigger the glitch. I found that in Celadon gym, there are various female trainers lined up. I checked it in Red and one sprite was missing for it to disappear, so I excitedly went and tested in Yellow! Incredibly, apparently the developers noticed this glitch because they added a bush in the same line only in Yellow, for the Pikachu not to disappear. Using a walk through walls glitch you can see, of course, the disappearing Pikachu.
