The French guitarist Thibaut Garcia is one of the most renowned classical guitarists of our time, performing in the most important concert halls such as Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier & more. Thibaut visited the Siccas Guitars Studio in Karlsruhe to record an extraordinary concert. He has played works by De Visée, Agustín Barrios, Dilermando Reis. Enjoy the concert. 💫 😊

Classical guitars are our passion! We are specialized in the highest quality concert guitars as well as historic guitars from around the world. Another focus is to work closely with established and young, largely unknown luthiers. Together we want to develop new ideas and share experiences with our customers. We also recorded pieces for many great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Isaac Albeniz (Asturias). Yes. His ornaments are so on point. I only heard him play concertos before this. His great tone and dynamics are what I'm also hearing now.

Thibaut, congratulations for playing real music, beautiful melodic music that we all understand and love, music to which we all can relate. Congratulations for playing wonderful guitars for this concert. Fast responding, round darker tone, fantastic bass on the lowest notes of the guitar; notably, E and D. All people with a good ear will notice that the sustain of these guitars is limited. The beauty of the tone and the fantastic bass is what makes up for it. The concert hall gives the guitar most of its sustain. Wonderful concert of objectively beautiful music. Thank you for not subjecting us with the impossible task of finding beauty in ugly tonal music, the kind that only misguided experts pretend to like, thus making it fashionable for other misguided people to pretend to like it too. I wholeheartedly agree with your praise of T Garcia…. Was just wondering what you consider to be ugly tonal music. I quite like Takemitsu, Brouwer, Martin, etc not because it’s difficult but because it expresses certain moods that melodic music cannot.

@@MethenySco I appreciate your question. I don’t have a library with sections of beautiful and ugly music. I say that there is objectivity to beauty. I reject the premise that beauty is subjective. Which of two things is more beautiful is subjective, but whether something is beautiful or ugly is not subjective; it is obvious. There’s plenty of modern music that is beautiful. We might have individual preferences, right? I assert that reasonable people will agree on what is beautiful and what is ugly.

Он играет правой стороной ногтя, как это делали Ида Прести и Александр Лагойя. А у них было много учеников. Сейчас это иногда называют старой французской школой.

its such a shame.. he is one of the most musical players Siccas ever had, but he chose a not so familiar program, and now he doesn't get the views he deserves! I wonder why the classic guitar audience is so conservative and always demand the same old favorites...

Quelle chance Thibaut et en plus d'origine espagnole ça trompe pas ! mon expérience à moi avec Siccas à été catastrophique ! un réel manque de sérieux à failli m'envoyer au cimetière à cause d'une information qui ne m'a pas été donné ! En effet Siccas et ses employés le premier avec qui j'ai pris contact part en vacances et me laisse en attente sans la moindre information au petit bonheur la chance ! ensuite un autre me donne 3 jours au choix, je prends un des jours je vais faire nos billets de train avec un ami qui m'accompagne qui est professeur de musique. les contacte et leur annonce le jour du billet et que me répondent t'ils "le jour on la donné à un guitariste italien" et cela sans m'informer avant que je fasse le billet en me disant - ne prenez pas ce jour on là plus- non non ils ont attendu que je fasse le billet pour me dire plus valable le jour ! Je vais changer le billet et que m'arrive t'il, je contracte le covid, "omicron" 15 jours d'incubation ! j'ai 60 ans mon médecin me donne du pavlovid un médicament qui est aussi utilisé contre le HIV en partie mais très dur à prendre ! 6 pastilles par jour ! je tombe gravement malade et il s'en ait fallut de peu que je finisse aux soins intensif ! Merci Siccas! Le jour arrive où nous devions nous rendre en Allemagne avec mon collège impossible pour moi de me rendre chez Siccas trop malade ! je leur envoi une copie de mes billets de train et une copie de mon test covid avec des excuses pour ne pas avoir pu me rendre chez eux ! aucune excuse de leur part même pas de réponse ! 300 euros de billets de train perdus, un covid qui à failli me ruiner et une terrible déception car ma pauvre mère de 87 ans à voulu participer à cet achat par amour pour ma personne et afin de me permettre de garder un souvenir d'elle, en vérité financièrement je n'ai as besoin de son argent à mon Age. Mais j'ai accepté son offre par amour ! j'avais une somme de 5-10 avec une reserve de 3 donc 13 euros ! Une somme acceptable pour l'achat d'un instrument ! j'ai beaucoup de guitares car j'ai bien gagné ma vie et j'ai eu de la chance ! en Espagne il y a longtemps, j'ai contacté une maison très connue : ils sont venus me chercher à l'aéroport et m'ont ensuite mené à mon hotel le jour d'après ils sont venu me cherche à l'hotel afin que je puisse faire un choix chez eux ! de grands professionnels ! chez eux les meilleurs guitaristes actuels se rendent mais jamais ils ne méprisent qui que ce soit ! Siccas pour moi reste une expérience horrible qui restera marquée dans ma chair pour le reste de ma vie ! Un manque absolu de savoir vivre et de respect de leur part ! Argent argent et argent voilà selon moi la seule chose qui compte pour eux ! Salutations !
