We are The Voice of The Voiceless
For the seen and the not heard
We are The Voice of The Voiceless
We're here to Break The Silence and be heard
You label me a misfit
well you were fucking right
You're living life in the darkness,
I'm here to shed the light
We are The Voice of The Voiceless
For the seen and the not heard
We are The Voice of The Voiceless
We're here to Break The Silence and be heard
I'll carve my own path, BE HEARD
I'm nothing like you, You're all the same. BE HEARD
Dead inside, Through and through. BE HEARD
Lost in a crowd with faces of shame
You label me a misfit
well you were fucking right
You're living life in the darkness,
I'm here to shed the light
Break the silence
This is who we are
Break the silence
This is who we are
Break the silence
This is who we are
THE VOICELESS HAVE SPOKEN
LET THEM BE HEARD
We are The Voice of The Voiceless
We are The Voice of The Voiceless
We are The voice of The Voiceless
We go to break the silence and be heard

Chain Reaction is a pretty legendary venue here in Southern California. It's a place a lot of bands hold in pretty high regard.

I completely utterly agree. I feel the same exact way. Maybe we will all disagree until the end, but the I feel so much absolute emotion and feeling behind bands like MMF. Bands like this have no significance that makes them stand out to me whatsoever. The emotion and love I get from the lyrics and feeling I find in bands like MMF, We Came As Romans, and The Word Alive, means the world to me. I don't see how anyone can feel that from a band like this. But I don't know. I can't speak for others..

Definitely agree that there is a big difference between hardcore and "posthardcore/pop bands". I personally feel both are great genres in their own distinct ways. So its impossible to compare them honestly. I tend to prefer hardcore most of the time, but there are those moments I will turn on some Haste The Day or The Devil Wears Prada.

Obviously, a lot of you Rise Records followers aren't acquainted with this type of Hardcore. This sound has been around for the longest time, and this band is very in touch with those roots. Since when did musical complexity ever determine the quality of a band? If you can enjoy it, and relate to it and any way, who the fuck cares if it's "repetitive/generic", because obviously a lot of bands in the same genre are going to sound like each other. Keep it Hardcore, guys, and stay true to you.

With all the music in the world, you shouldn't have to chose between passion and creativity. There are bands out there that are extremely passionate and creative. This band isn't one of them. This is cookiecutter-core. Chug Chug Chug brotherhood has been done to death.

I don't mean to sound like a typical "troll" but I personally don't understand why you think Memphis May Fire has no emotion in their music. The lyrics themselves send shivers throughout my body, some of the lyrics I can actually relate to, and the way Matty Mullins expresses those lyrics is just as emotional.

while i agree with you i have to say you say things you dont know about. both MMf and MMI have deep passion in their songs. if anything they have uch mnore passion than this band. the musical passion that makes a band truly great is !: the meaning of what they are saying and 2: how they are playing and spreading those words to others. most of MMI's new album is nothing but emotion and you have to be blind to see what they are trying to say
@jessepiccone6908
@jessepiccone6908 12 жыл бұрын
The problem here is that you don't enjoy Hardcore. Hardcore isn't about who can play the most intricate and fast riffs, or who has the most dynamic song structure. It is about passion and brotherhood. People who don't understand it will call it generic, uninspired, or simplistic. That is why we call those bands generic, although I do enjoy Memphis May Fire and Miss May I, they lack that raw emotion that bands like this have. This has no gimmicks. Simply put, you will never get it.

Ya know I'm not gonna say anything against this band or anything like it, but I love how everyone will bash on other Rise Records bands and call them generic and boring, yet this right here is extremely repetitive, generic, and simple. There's nothing unique and intricate about this at all. Same chords, same vocals, same lyrics. It just floors me that people will stand by this kind of music with such stubborness and call bands like Memphis May Fire and Miss May I generic. I. Just. Don't. Get it.

What the fuck, how can you even say Memphis May Fire or Miss May I lack emotion? I love this song, this band, and the emotion is gives. But the guitar work, drum work, and vocals of bands like MMF MMI get to me more than this does. It's all based on opinion too I guess, but to say that a frontman like Matty Mullins lacks emotion is just ignorant. They might lean more towards the pop side of the spectrum than TAB, but they still emit such strong emotion, just in a different nature.

Did I say that you couldn't be passionate and creative? No. The bands he cited are both creatively vapid and lack emotion, they do create enjoyable, albeit generic music. However, they are not enjoyable in the same vein as TAB. Who while lacking creativity, have that raw energy that most bands on this label lack. I can't believe I actually had to explain something so blatantly obvious.

But you are championing a band that has only one of these qualities. I am just saying you don't have to settle. Memphis May Fire and Miss May I may not have both those qualities, that is not what I said. I am simply saying that there are passionate and creative artists out there. Thick As Blood probably puts on a really fun show, but I wouldn't buy their album, because I probably already have one that sounds just like it and is just as passionate.
