Game info: Become the best thief. Gather intel, steal things and sell them to buy hi-tech equipment. Do everything that a real thief does.
Become the thief. Steal in free roam sandbox neighborhoods.
Observe your target and gather information that will help you with the burglary. Take the challenge and rob the best secured houses. Buy some hi-tech burglar equipment and learn new thief tricks. Sell stolen goods to the passers. Do anything that a real thief does!
A good thief always observes his target. Find out when the house is empty and does it have nosy neighbours. Choose from lots of possible approaches to prepare the best plan. Many modern devices available in Thief Simulator might come in handy with gathering intel about your target and it's neighbourhood.
Find and steal as many valuables as possible in the shortest time possible. Infinite backpacks don't exist. In every house you'll find tons of useless stuff. If you're not sure that you can take some serious money for it, maybe a good idea would be to leave it behind and save space for some expensive goods. Worthless items, will waste your time. Be careful, cause some things can draw police attention to you!
A real, experienced thief can spot places where there's most probability of finding some valuables on the fly. Use the flashlight at night to highlight all the valuables in sight and places where you can expect them to be.
Disassemble a stolen car and sell parts on the internet. Prepare phones and tablets before selling them in a pawn shop by removing their security.
Look around for any useful items. They will save you some time on lockpicking or hacking. Those things can make life of an aspiring thief so much easier and reduce your burglary time even by a half. Of course many of them are just useless trash... Or maybe they aren't?
Be careful! In some houses you can meet unexpected guests. If they catch you in the act, they will call the police. In this case hide and wait till they stop looking for you or you can always leave the loot and run away as fast as possible.

*time to make a update, they fixed a lot of things in the june 16 update, and for those who want to know, heres a list i found (big tho):* Better visuals More smooth day/night cycle Optimized and better A.I. pathfinding Police in the house now will search for players and won’t go directly to them Added more story after “explosion” in the previous version Added new location “Industrial District” Added new location “Hideout” with the house to buy Added new location “Junkyard” where you can sell cars and car parts Added possibility to decor House and Hideout with items and furniture Added two new stealable vehicles in Industrial District “Forklift” and “Skid loader” Added New Game+ after completing story: -No story -No experience, all skills are known at the start -Some new items/auctions -Some items will get randomized -Locks should be different in some houses -Tenant routines changed Added new tool “Cloaking device” to buy in New Game+ Added Police patrols (the police will now patrol the neighborhood after few times the player was seen by tenants) Added possibility to buy new car Black Van (should show up in the pawnshop around level 20). @@mafyboy0420 i get what you mean, I can lockpick the level 1s pretty easily but there's sometimes one that is impossible, you have to wiggle the lockpick as ur turning the lock, yknow like get a feel for it

To be honest I got this game beacsue of this review and it IS a lot of fun. What’s annoying about it is you have to be exactly on the item you want to select, not around it but right on top which I think in annoying.

I actually really like the game. the game has crashed a few times on me which is quite annoying, but the gameplay is actually pretty good. definitely spent some late nights robbin the hood for loot and experience. once you level up a few times and gain access to more tools and abilities the game becomes more engaging

Yeah while the items are the same for most houses the experiences are almost never the same which makes it interesting and it's not super easy either which is great.

I liked the game on switch, until it came to lock picking . I kept breaking Bobby pins on first mission, where i had to get the box. I see why it was 90% off, it's way to sensitive to consistently pop locks on it.

I actually figured out a good way to avoid breaking the Bobby pins. After turning the Bobby pin and then turning the lock and it not fully turning, you can press B to go back and then you can retry an endless amount of times with no consequences. After figuring this out I never needed to buy another diy lockpick ever again.

The devs said they're working on the update for console, since porting everything over is hard, which does make sense. Hopefully they finish it, and not abandon it like some other game devs.

Glad I got this for 98¢ on the eshop. It's on sale for 99¢ currently in the US and its been on my wishlist for a while. I had a penny left in gold coin rewards so it was less than a buck. At full price I'd avoid it. If you can get it on a great sale there's some fun to be had.

Have the game on both the Switch and Xbox, just wish they would update the Switch more to where I can put more than one thing in the back of the car. The xbox they need to fix hole NG+, go to select that and it just starts a new game

Bought it for like $2 on eShop, so I'm not too upset. But the controls are so chonky. It's so hard to nab smaller things, open cabinets, etc. But it's nice to see if I'd like it on my computer, which, if it's smoother on PC I definitely would. It's a nice lil thing to pick up every now and then but it's easy to get fed up due to the difficulty of the controls when trying to steal stuff as I said. That's my biggest frustration. Still, for $2 not mad.

The Switch has become home to many cheap looking early access games, no quality control, such a shame. Even the descriptions on some games are clearly written by someone who clearly doesn't speak English as their first language.

Dude the review was nice but you left out the fact that their are multiple streets to rob each harder than the last and you haven’t talked about hacking and taking apart things and you should have mentioned the micro camera with the routine bar also you should have mentioned side quests and what THE BLOODY SKILL TREE like maby you should have done some robberies in the second town and maby talk about different types of lock picks and the fact that SECURITY CAMERAS EXIST so next time before you review a game try and beat it

Dude it's awesome combat sucks ass, but the story and rpg elements are fucking lit, I bought thief simulator on release I was super hype for it to come out but I was so dissapointed with everything

Awesome job. I had high hopes for this one, for no reason at all. Like the core concept behind it still. You nailed it with them being a small team and reaching a bit far with their ambition.
