Simply amazing. Actually Shuff played really ok but Sir Melling what are you doing man. Phenomenal performance. Since 2012 I've been watching this match over and over again and still feeling like the day it was played. Look at Melling's body language, attitude and how dedicated he is. He deserves what he has achieved so far. Great!

Melling must be the most watchable player on the planet, whether it's 8 ball or 9 ball. He's the closest thing to Reyes at finding shots at 9 ball that others wouldn't see or try.

@@zedohsan1390 I know Jayson fairly well as I grew up playing 8 ball with him and his dad. He does have the same ability to find shots others wouldn't see but probably uses less recovery shots as an older player than he did previously. Simon Ward is another if you like 8 ball. I still put Melling at the top alongside Reyes as far as range of shots. Jayson has all that too but is more orthodox (or has become so as he's improved and aged) so it's less apparent maybe. He was more flamboyant (and erratic) as a kid. He always had a ton of ability but he's worked hard on his professionalism and consistency and found improvements beyond his basic ability which is what ultimately gets you to the top of a sport I guess.

Shuff had two nearly impossible scratches, and Melling had an unreal lucky roll late in the final rack. Two great players, but in a short race to five, anything can happen.

Americans fans are just in awe of European crowds. All they’ve got is “let’s go USA” like something from a group of single mums at a junior rounders game.

I see your point but there are similar things with the US fans when it is played over there, they were chanting USA a lot of the time. Neither side should do it, the crowd should treat both players with respect when they are at the table.

If he made it, he always had a good chance on position (had to play with left side, obv) Had he hit it too thin, the 6 would probably be in the middle of the top rail, had he hit it too full he had the 7 as a stopper (best case). But ofc, it was a fluke. But he had some semi-good odds. That and the fact that you are 4-2 up and are playing véry well for the last days
