This guy won the WC, the Euros with France. He went in England and was unbeaten for a whole season with Arsenal ( unseen before), went to Barca, and won the treble for the first time ever in Spain. Talk about quality. Massive respect from me as a Madridista

@@roronoalaw7772 Madrid - Juventus was kinda marred by Real Madrid having MASSIVE luck by scoring 2 deflections in a row, like vs Liverpool when Madrid got 2 goals from mistakes it kinda robs the excellence of the side imo. AC Milan 4 - 0 Barcelona in 1994 was a brutal score line. Also worthy of note is that Guardiola was playing as a defensive midfielder in that 4-0 loss to AC Milan.

Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are by far my favorite living football legends, they are the reason I fell in love with football in the first place, they are part of my childhood... Henry should have won at least one or two ballon d'or in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, he was so unique and underrated back then, he was almost unstoppable and genuinely a very good all-rounder authentic player. ☯️✌️

2:31- Listen to what Thierry says here. It's probably more based on his time in Spain, many pundits/press at the time saw him to be a finished player because of the fact he wasn't scoring as many goals/being effective with Barca especially in his first season compared to when he was at Arsenal. He felt that he needed to prove a point and he certainly did by winning the treble in his second season.

You can see Henry is more like 'job done' here than over the moon at finally winning the CL when he was pushing 32. Someone like Gerard probably saw this interview and thought 'Yeah, not much point in winnning everything under the sun if it's not going to be at Liverpool. Glad I didn't give in to the pressure.'

That first treble was so special that Pep needed the help of the referees to even reach the final vs United. Barca and Pep should have been knocked out vs Chelsea in the semis but UEFA had other plans obviously. Pep owes his entire legacy to the referees and to UEFA.

Your comment is 💯 spot on. As Arsenalfan that will always frustrate me. Far worse teams have won UCL but to not win it with Henry, Viera & Pires etc will always haunt me. The fact that invicibles couldn’t win that is something I can never get over. Even Liverpool with Gerrard won it and that year they came 5th in the PL.

Mad that both were fraudulent trebles. Mad that Pep needed the refs help to get through vs Chelsea in 2009, otherwise there was no shot at the treble in the final. Mad that Pep needed the refs help to get through vs Arsenal in the 2011 round of 16 tie, otherwise no UCL there either. Mad that Pep’s treble with City only happened after breaching multiple doping regulations and FFP rules.
