Griezmann was a very hyped and appreciated player untill his move to barcelona.He won golden boot in euro 16, 3rd in bdor at the time.His barca move didnt really worked out but he has been fantastic since his return to atletico madrid.

@@aaronnilestoussaint5672 Individually Griezmann was definitely better than Pogba in the 2018 world cup for France but I can't disagree if one thinks kante did more because he was the main reason why players like Pogba Matuidi and Griezmann could go forward so freely so yeah he can also be considered the MVP

@@aaronnilestoussaint5672Griezmann defiinietly was the best french player in 2022 wc from the group stages to the semi, he choked in the final tho. He was everywhere and totally controled the midfield, he was the french midfield almost entirely by himself and really compensiated the absence of Pogba and Kanté on the playmaking side like the defensive one I agree for 2018 the whols team was just amazing

In fact, France18 was a solid and collectif team. We didn't win bc ONE GUY only (even if Mbappé do the job af). The best example for that is Giroud.. He played for the others a lot and didn't play for him. Well, i love that team. 2022 was something else, a lot injuries players, no collectif and only Mbappé/Grizou carrying the whole thing. We didn't deserve to win. Argentina was a better collectif.

Griezmann man, he's the glue for France and Athletico. They reached the final of 2022 because of him. Although you have to give credit to Deschamps as well. He made him play the fulcrum role and now he's thriving. He's unlucky to have won less domestic trophies and European cups. But he will be regarded as one of the Greats when he retires. He's so damn good

He was very highly rated before he went to Barcelona. Sadly it didn’t work out he wasn’t clinical at all and the tiki-taka and slow build up didn’t suit his style of play. I think there was a time when he was overrated and now he’s underrated.

I just visited the game of Cadiz Vs Atletico. Cadiz is in 18th place and had not won a game in 25 matches, and they win 2-0. Mostly because Griezman was injured and did not play, that’s how mutch of a difference he makes for Atletico who where placed 4th.

Any France fan would rather Griezmann than Mbappe in the team. It’s mainly his versatility and in-game adaptations that make him important. He’s a centre-mid, a striker, and attacking midfielder, a second striker, all at the same time

He was perfectly rated at the 2016 euros , he was the star man, and he was amazing at the 2018 World Cup. But that bad few years at Barca, where everyone thought he’d go and bring them back to champions league glory alongside Messi, sort of as a iniesta replacement, definitely put a bad mark on his cv and his credibility. He is ballon dor winning quality, but unfortunately if you’re not consistent, you don’t get the credit, sort of like hazard after moving to Madrid.

As a French, I always say if we have for any tournament juste Mbappe and Griezman at full shape, you can fill the rest of the squad with unknown players and we will still be capable to win the tournament. But if you miss one of this two, no chance to win.

He is an excellent player but in my opinion, when he was given the chance to be truly elite with the move to Barca, he failed. He’s been playing in La liga for over a decade and has won La liga only once, he’s never won a champions league, and in terms of international football, he has been an important player but by no means the most important player. He’s not underrated, he just hasn’t achieved as much as those who are classed among the true elite.

He isn't universally acclaimed he acts like a cringe person. The doc about leaving, the pink hair, the stupid celebrations... people didn't take him seriously for a long time. Also, playing for Atlético Madrid, as great of a club as they are, means that you will not be talked about in the same way players from more "glamorous" clubs do
