It is lovely to see somebody doing this thillana with some classic old standard steps. I enjoy watching the newer dancers with the intricate steps too, but this is the type of bharatanatyam I learnt and am glad that there are still some who practice it this way. Not all dance has to be in 2X speed.

I agree with others, the music is very meditative. The very prominent sruti contributes to this effect. The tillana is a ragamalika. Hindolam is the main ragam. Mohanam is there, yes, but also Vasanta, Kaanada, and Kalyani, in that order.

Hi Subhalakshmi, it was choreographed by Guru Kalaimamani Chamundeswari Pani who's based in the north of England. She is wonderfully creative :) - Raneesha
