While many would disagree, Bam Adebayo is the actual key to unlocking Miami's potential IMO. He has been criticized for not being aggressive enough (offensively) at times which is one of the main reasons people are calling for a different star player alongside Jimmy. However, in Jimmy's absence this season, Bam has begun to find that aggression and it is beginning to show more and more. In looking at the leading scorers of each game for the Heat, here are the records. When Jimmy is leading (2-3), when Herro is leading (1-5), when Bam is leading (6-3) and someone else (3-3). Sure there could possibly be no correlation, but when watching Heat games it seems to back up this theory (for now). Just throwing this out there.

The concern with saying "just run it next season" is the fact that the Heat still don't have much to trade in terms of picks and Jimmy, as you mentioned, is 33 and will be 34 next season, an age where non-generational superstars like Jimmy have a propensity to see major dips in ability and health (see Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and many others examples). The cracks are already showing, and come next season Jimmy may not be able to remain a true #1 anymore.

Disagree completely. He’s literally proven he can make the finals as the best player. He just steps up so much he becomes the best player if he wasn’t already considered it. In Chicago with d rose. Phily embid. Timberwolves towns. Heat he was just realized to be the best player and that team has done well. Idk I didn’t watch Scottie but I actually think jimmy is better all time. Heat's problem is that they insist on Bam as their starting Center. Maybe move him to forward as he is nimble enough and get a reliable big. They are easily getting outrebounded and their blocks per game are atrocious. Basically, they don't have interior d to stop slashers. They are fine on the perimeter but those two things are killing them right now.
@Kosher93
@Kosher93 Жыл бұрын
This is wrong. They have TERRIBLE point of attack defense. Bam is keeping their defense together damn near by himself with Caleb. Miami has a 109 def rating with Bam on the floor (would rank top 3). They fall to 113 when he comes off the floor which ranks in the bottom half of the NBA. They either need better perimeter defenders who can stretch the floor or a stretch 5 rim protector who can push Bam to the perimeter to guard the other teams best wings.

I personally think the answer is somewhere in the middle. In terms of just raw talent, Jimmy Butler isn't transcendent like Steph, Lebron, and a few others currently in the league... HOWEVER, he can simultaneously be the glue guy, the leader, and someone you trust with that last shot on a championship team. Nobody who pays attention to Jimmy Butler can ever accuse him of not having enough passion for the game and he's the guy who's got that dog in him and continuously sets an example for his teammates. Given the amount of blood sweat and tears he's shed for the game, Jimmy is one of those guys that deserves to win a championship before the conclusion of his career.

@Karabo Mafa done lol. I think that's kinda a steal for us seeing how shit Reggie been so far this season. But Powell is a solid player for any team n depending on wat Timmy they'd get, he could Also work out for them. But i think the heat would prob want Jaden hardy in that trade too tho, n prob Josh Green which I'm not too keen on trading either, he's been looking unbelievable so far.

Jimmy to me needs to develop a consistent 3pt shot he’s obviously more comfortable shooting midrange but his offensive game is not vast enough yet to be the guy that teams can not handle Jimmy as of now is quite containable against really good teams if you put a really good defender on Jimmy that can play on his ball handling ability, the ability to create space off the dribble like really yo-yo the ball he’d be in trouble he needs to be able to make consistently from three guys like Herro and bam are too inconsistent right now

The disrespect from Pat Bev is ridiculous. Jimmy can bring a chip home, but not on the heat. If he stayed with Philly it might have been a different story. That Embiid/Butler duo was underrated af.

As a heat fan Bradley Beal, kyrie, and embiid are long shots. Also lavine wouldn’t make much difference when our biggest problem is at power forward. KD is probably more likely than the rest and even that’s a long shot. I personally think we should have traded for crowder before the season even started. Kuzma would be another more likely trade to have an effect. Lauri would be a huge addition if we got him also and he’s my favorite outta those guys

Butler went on his tour “ I going to get my max contract by dissing my teammates” and ended up with Miami with one” It not in his DNA to be a number 2 player and if he figures that out he stands a chance of winning a championship.

Things arent getting weird. They just need to roll into the playoffs and make another run. Its a tough season in the golden era. I think they have everything they need. I would get crowder back though. Need hero and oladipo to stay healthy. That duncan robinson contract was stupid. I called that. I would have liked it a lot more if it was a sign and trade but no one listens.
